Movie Comment Time!
Hey guys!
I know I've sort of dropped off the face of the earth, but now that opening weekend for the movie is almost over, I think most of us have already seen it, so...

I thought that overall the movie was well done. It definitely exceeded my expectations.
Praises:
- I love how they showed what happened to Katniss' dad through the hallucination scene. That was great.
- Jennifer Lawrence was amazing and could have easily carried the movie on her shoulders if she had needed to.
Critiques:
- I didn't really feel the discord between the Capitol and outer-lying Districts, partially because they cut out so much of the scene between Rue and Katniss when they become allies. It was such an integral part of showing the suffering and injustice in the Districts that I feel not showing it was a shame.
- I know that the movie was already over 2 hours, but I can't help but to think they moved too fast. The character development and background development just wasn't quite there, in my opinion.
- The relationship between Haymitch and Katniss didn't really evolve on screen.
- The mockingjay pin. 1) She was allowed to bring it in to the arena...it wasn't a secret. 2a) MADGE gave her the pin. It symbolized the upperclass reaching down to the poor. b) The way she got it in the movie was through the Hob, where she was allowed to just take it? fjawe;ofeoahgvf;ahewdf 3) There was a lot of handing over of that pin between Prim and Katniss. Idk if it was really necessary, but whatever.
In conclusion, I'm watching it again later today with my friends.
