Hair Dye.

As a continuation of my entry the other day, or rather as a follow up to it since I mentioned Henna-ing in said post, today I performed a strand test and decided to got for it with the henna. Having never tried it before I believe I'm only going to be rewarded with a weaker version of the colour I was hoping. I'm really hoping that the 'using less ( Read more... )

Chief among your faults is watching MI:2. *shudders*

How dare you insult the MI franchise... *snickers* Just because they're not your taste doesn't mean some of us have to shun the explodey goodness that is far-fetched action adventure.

And if that was my chief fault I imagine I'd be an extremely boring person since it's out faults that make us interesting.

Also, it's mindless enough that I can review my script for tomorrow while my hair dries at the same time.

All fair points. But surely there are better mindless explosion-fests that don't have the strange longeuers (longeueueuers?!) and general dullness. The first MI, for example. Or Die Hard 4. Or or or. But yes, good luck learning script.

I watched MI:1 last night. And Die Hard 4.0 about a week ago. I only have a limited number of F-FAA themed films before I stumble into my solitary romantic comedy. I really need to increase my DVD collection. I'm watching the MI films in order, since I don't believe I've ever done that before, and I want to see the bit where they blow up the Lamborghini in MI:3 again.

And thanks, I'll need it. We've only just set the damn thing, and we're supposed to know the first act by the 8th of March.

Not bad. It's very weird to apply, and my hair tangled a lot. I panicked a weeny bit about halfway through because of the tanglyness, which lead to a couple of spots that are significantly blonder than the rest, but I don't believe they're very noticeable (at least until I tell someone about it...) and it's a lovely colour. I think tawny is almost the exact word for it really - in some lights, in others it looks darker, and in one light it just looks sandy! I'm thinking that in a couple of weeks I'll have a do-over, and possibly get a brighter and more even colour. But for now I'm content.

Considering how badly it could have gone, I think it was a roaring success!

Shhh! If you want the colour to be weaker, don't use less dye, just leave the dye in for a shorter amount of time. The longer you leave it in, the more intense the colour becomes.

Though with red I would still leave it in for the minimum amount of says on the pack because otherwise there's a good chance it'll turn ooooooorange instead of red. Just sayin'.

It wasn't necessarily a weaker colour I was aiming for, I basically wanted to see what the result from one block of henna would be. It's entirely not bad, but I do think that I need a second block to ensure full coverage.

I'm fairly happy with it to be honest!

Yay! I've never done henna, actually. Though I think the product I use is henna based because I don't know how else they would get my hair red without any chemicals and the product is all natural *scratches head*

I've used temporary chemical dyes what must be about a dozen times now. There's a severe lack of the stuff these days for the right shade of red, so I thought I'd try Lush's Caca range. It didn't give me as strong colour as I expected, but then, I believe more or the dye will help with that - it was spread very thinly over my hair so there are probably hairs that weren't exposed to the dye particularly. I may also leave it on overnight next time, since they suggest that you can leave it on for as long as you want for the dye to sink in. The benefits of it not being chemical I suppose.

Although it'll mean that every time I do it I'm going to end up smelling like cloves!
