Juno
I saw Juno and it sucked ass.
Imagine something like Ghost World or a Wes Anderson flick except really bad. The movie is so overloaded with pointless cultural referential dialogue that the fucking 7-11 clerk is spouting them off, each character has some character defining quirk forced on them like one character LOVES tic tacs (this whole formula for indie comedies became cliche by about the time Little Miss Sunshine did it), Juno was more annoying and unlikeable than the charming smart ass she was abviously scripted to be, and all the emotional and touching parts in the movie felt completely phony due to all the comedy that took place up until those parts.
I'm kind of surprised that its gotten nominated for any oscars but I suspect it is because the old farts who run the academy think it might be some sort of valid reflection of today's youth and that it deals with a serious subject in teen pregnancy (in a completely half assed manner). These are the same people who gave the award for best picture to Crash.
