The memory fades in, though (as seems to be usual) there's no sight. Sounds, though...lots of sounds. The smell of a forest, of singed leaves and blood and fear, and a scent that is at once exhilarating and acidic, the smell of overwhelming power come at an overwhelming price. There is a burning scorching along his veins, the feel of something coursing through him that is both welcome and too much for his body to take all at once.

"******-kun?" The name is not understandable, but the voice is female. She sounds distraught and in pain, as if something dreadful is happening. It is...familiar. He's heard that voice before, and recently. Based on a single syllable, though, it's hard to place.

"Don't worry." His own voice, somehow both elated and bloodthirsty and slightly younger. "I can feel power overflowing from within me. I feel...great." There is a savage satisfaction in the tone, a vicious sort of joy that seeks to rend, tear, destroy what comes in front of it. "He gave it to me." He can feel the power, an immense rush of ability that wants nothing more than to rip someone to shreds.

"Huh?" The female voice again, more familiar but still somewhat indistinct thanks to the single syllable.

"I finally understand it. I am an avenger. Even if I must eat the devil's fruit, I am on a path where I must gain power." His voice gains in savagery, practically animalistic, and the overwhelming emotion is They will pay for what they did to her.

The sounds of battle; indistinct cries, shouts of pain, cries of surprise. The next thing he can make out is his own voice again. He's holding a man's arms; from the way his hands feel he's doing so from a very uncomfortable position. "So. You're proud of these two arms, right?" A sickening crack, followed by another; a shout of pain that says he just shattered a man's arms without a second thought. He drops the now-useless arms and turns; he can feel his lips stretching in a smile that would scare the hell out of just about anyone in his path as he turns to glance over his shoulder.

"You're the only one left. I hope you let me have more fun..." He gets no further than a step before something -- no, someone -- runs into him from behind, crying out for him to stop. Slender arms wrap around him, pinning his in place; the gesture shocks him into stillness and silence. A female, his mind tells him as she hugs him close; he can feel her tears soaking through his shirt.

"Please," she begs, brokenly. "Stop." It's then that he finally places the voice, which was older when last he heard it.

Seven. The girl with the pink hair.

He can feel the burning power receding while in her grasp; it retreats, curling up to wait malevolently at a point just at the base of his neck. With it gone his legs can no longer support him; he collapses into her arms as she lowers him to the ground and the memory goes black.
