Blair hadn’t planned on leaving the place she called home, but she’d convinced herself it was only in her best interests. If she left go of the one person that kept her holding on by the thread of hope that the past could become the future, then maybe the thoughts of limo sex and scheming could drift off into the cobwebs of the history where they belonged.
“Chuck, what are you doing here?” Blair asked as she hurriedly packed the few remaining items into her suitcase. The last thing she needed was a distraction and that’s exactly what Chuck Bass was.
“With all these clothes packed Blair, anyone would assume you was planning to leave.” Chuck admired her will for escaping but could either of them escape what they were? They both were incredibly weak in staying away from their desires and because of this neither of them would ever be able to stay away from each other.
“I’m not asking you if I can leave, I’m just going to.” Blair resisted the temptation of turning to face him. She needed to concentrate, he’d only persuade her round into his creepy deranged way of thinking like he normally did.
“You’re always going to be this bitter, aren’t you?” Chuck questioned as he walked closer to her. His curiosity of where she was leaving to was getting the better of him, no one besides Blair knew where she was flying to later today. Not even Gossip Girl had caught up with the latest on Miss Waldorf.
“Are you always going to stalk me at any chance you get? There’s your answer.” Blair grinned as she slammed her suitcase shut.
“Are you planning on booking a return ticket in advance for when you finally decide to come back from Never Land with Peter Pan?” Chuck laughed at himself. It had only been on previous rare occasions that he’d gotten the chance to tease Blair to an extent where he would provoke a physical response. He sure did like those physical kicks and punch’s, it reminded him how wild she was in bed.
This time the smack wasn’t as hard as he’d thought it would be. It was more of a tender motherly smack that would make you let out a sigh of relief. He noticed that she saw the disappointment in his eyes, he’d been expecting it to lead on where he could tempt her to stay with him tonight but she hadn’t allowed it to get that far. Nowhere near that far.
“Are you implying that I’m not leaving at all?” Blair rolled her eyes. She knew that Chuck would try and talk her into telling him where she was going, but why should she tell him he hadn't done anything to deserve to know where she would be flying to tonight. He hadn't even spoken to her until she left the party downstairs, he'd spent most of the night arm in arm with a swedish girl and socializing with only the most available ladies in the Upper East Side. He'd give her the occasional gaze from afar proving that he no longer needed her attention or company.
“As a child I had no interest in paying ‘Where‘s Wally?’ So why do I keep having to play this game with you? Tell me where you’re going.“ Chuck demanded pulling her suitcase off of the bed and onto the floor. It landed with a thud which shocked them both.
“If you must know I’m leaving with Nate this afternoon, we think its best I get away for a while. Happy now Chuck?” Blair replied.
“Your leaving with Nate?” Chuck looked slightly confused, he had been with Nate all day catching up on their constantly changing friendship. They'd decided to go and play some basketball for a while, which turned out to be a long while. Chuck had only stayed with him because he was infulenced by Lily not to let his and Nate's long lasting friendship crumble to dust. Nate had mentioned nothing of last minute flights then, and if he'd booked it earlier in the week he would have surely mentioned something to Chuck today.
“Do I have to repeat myself? Yes I’m leaving with Nate and I’m hoping to get more then just a sun tan while I’m over there.” Blair pulled the handle bar out of her suitcase. “Now if you don’t mind I have to leave, my flight departs at eleven thirty.”
Blair headed towards the door rolling her suitcase at speed. Nate wasn’t coming with her, she hadn’t even bothered to ask him. She did mention to him that she would be going away for a few weeks or more, but he hadn't been paying any attention on the phone. Apparently he was busy doing other things and would call her later.
She was heading somewhere alone, somewhere she could get her mind straight and not have to stress about what somebody else was doing. She hadn't told anyone where she was going, not even Serena.
It was then she felt fingers dig into her arm, as Chuck’s grip around it tightened strongly.
“If you think I’m letting you walk out of that door, you’re mistaken.” Chuck said “I have learnt for myself that you’re a good liar Blair but I think even Nate could have worked that one out.” Chuck forced a smile pulling her back into his personal space. He felt her breath hit his chin as he pulled her nearer then he had been able to get her for the past few months. Still as close as she was he still felt she was as far away as she had been when he first lost her. It would be easy for him to bring the physical attraction back into motion, to take her breath away with a kiss but he wasn’t sure if he could regain everything else they’d lost in their relationship. The truth behind it all, the trust in each other they had once owned.
“You don’t know me. You never have, else you wouldn’t have let me go. You wouldn’t have let me hurt that much.” Blair spat as she pulled her arm out of his grip.
He loosened his facial expression. As she was so willing to leave the care of her not being happy with him flew out of the window so sudden. He knew the thought of telling her how he really felt was a hasty and not a very tactful move but it needed to be done.
“I’ll always be here for you Blair, you can’t leave me.” Chuck pleaded.
“Why can’t I Chuck?” Blair sneered as she turned to face him from the door. He looked so childlike. Just like she had done all those years ago when she'd first met him. Except now there was no longer that cheeky grin placed on his face, there was a soft wishful look.
“Because I love you.”
“Well that’s to bad, isn’t it?” Blair replied as she dragged her suitcase through the open door slamming it behind her.
End.
