Her name is Morgan. She has bad knees. She's about to walk really far to raise money for breast cancer. And she is doing it on my birthday. "WOW!!! WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP," you ask.
Well, thankfully I have the answer to that question... Here is the letter she sent me. If you want to donate, just comment and I'll let you know how.
The Letter:
On September 19-21, 2003 I'll be participating in a very special event called the Weekend to End Breast Cancer.
I am going to be walking (or crawling) 60 kilometres, for a cause devoted to helping women discover breast cancer early enough to beat it and committed to finally finding a cure. As a condition of participation, I must raise at least $2,000. Proceeds benefit Princess Margaret Hospital.
According to the National Cancer Institute of Canada, approximately 20,500 Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and about 5,400 will die from the disease. That's why I'm walking so far. To do something bold about breast cancer. I hope that you'll share this incredible adventure with me - by supporting me in my fundraising efforts.
I understand how money is tight for many people, so I'm not asking for huge donations (although I'll accept them). If enough people give, even a few dollars, we'll be that much closer to finding a cure.
I'll accept the smallest of donations. I'll accept the largest of donations. Please feel free to fit in anywhere in between.
Much appreciated. Thanks in advance for your generosity! Feel free to pass this email on to family and friends.
Sincerely,
Morgan Murrell
Aww... isn't that grand?! Did I mention she's Canadian? And this is a good cause? And she has dimples??! That is all. katie
