Sage advice from an idiot
Do not walk through clover patches wearing only open-toed Birkenstocks. I don't care how fancy-free or romantic you're feeling, it's a poor choice.
Pretty sure the people who pulled up next to me were confused as to why I felt the need to inform them that I just got stung, in the toe, by an angry bee. Probably more confused when I stopped and sat down on the curb to dig out the stinger.
I had ice cream for dinner since I had to abort the trip to Big Y, and I think that made up for the fact that I'm having trouble walking.
