Becuase Seattle had me on the edge of my seat all season, this will be the first year in a long time I'll watch and enjoy the MLB playoffs. Monday's game was so exciting I'm hoping the rest of October can live up to it. I have no real favorites this year, but I do loathe the Angels, so these predicitons are pretty unbiased me thinks. Anywho, I'd like to hear other people's opinions as well.

Playoff predictions: Divisional Series:

Los Angelas Angels of Anaheim vs. Boston Red Sox

Who I want to win: Boston
Despite my annoyance of the ever growing Sox fan base, I will never be able to root for the Angels who's very presence in this playoff picture annoys me to no end.

Who Will Win: Los Angelas
LA doesn't have the bats, but their pitching matches Boston every step of the way. Expect Beckett to take game 1 and Escobar game 2. After that it's up to the Angels to take two at home. If they can't step it up, then I see Boston being able to win it in dramatic fashion back at Fenway.

LA in 4.

New York Yankees vs. Cleaveland Indians

Who I want to win: Cleaveland
I'll have to admit it: New York's underdog status all year gave them a scrappy likeable quality that this year's dominating Red Sox winning machine didn't seem to posses. But now that October is here, the great equalizer of the playoffs sets in.

Who will win: Cleaveland
Cleaveland's 1, 2 punch of Sabathia and Carmona is completely under rated, especially considering the D'Backs proved all you need to win a world series is two aces in 2001. Yankees have nothing to compete with, but they will have a chance in games 3 and 4 to try to equalize the series.

Cleaveland in 4.

Colorado Rockies vs. Philladelphia Phillies

Who I want to Win: Philladelphia
Last Friday when Philly took the NL East, my room mate drove six hours home to get tickets for Sunday's game. He came back with tickets for Thursday's game and a giant Rollins poster that now covers our wall. Rooting against the Phillies at this point seems like booing a retarded kid.

Who will win: Colorado
Phillies fans want you to think the Phils are the scrappiest underdog of the bunch, but they forget that every team in the NL is a scrappy underdog. Rockies comeback against the best bullpen in the league on Monday night was enough to make me beleive. This will undoubtedly be an offensive battle, and the Phils do have more depth in their line-up then Colorado, but the 2-4 of the Rockies is scary good when they decide to make things click.

Colorado in 5.

Chicago Cubs vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

Who I want to win: Arizona
As much as I love Lou Pinella and Alfonso Soriano, I have no sympathy for a team who got their season going by having their man child of an ace pitcher kick the shit out of their starting catcher, trade said catcher, and say now things are solved. The Cubs were supposed to be a well oiled winning machine, and they clawed their way into the playoffs through the mess of an NL central division with next to no grace or skill.

Who will win: Arizona
Zambrano will crack under pressure, and Lilly is over rated. Arizona's bats could be a problem, but I don't see the Cubs offense putting much pressure on their pitching staff. Plus Arizona is the youngest team in the playoffs and looking to prove themselves.

Arizona in 4.

I'll do the championship series next time.
