Okay, I normally don't like to rant, especially about such trivial stuff as television (yes, I know it's not the most important thing in the world), but after coming across yet another PBS program about how simple the digital switch is going to be, I just have to vent a bit ( Read more... )

I *knew* there was a catch somewhere. I didn't know what it was, but I knew it was there.

I have a feeling cable providers are going to find themselves in the same situation as major record labels. People are finding other ways to get their teevee - both legal and non. Someday comcast, time warner, etc are going to find the bottom has dropped out of their subscriber base, and they're going to be shocked -- SHOCKED -- that it has happened, and blame everyone except themselves.

Yeah, and it's not so much the fact that they're doing it. It was bound to happen. What's pissing me off is that they're trying to be so secretive about it. Oh, and all the other cable companies say they have eventual plans on doing so eventually. It's basically just comcast that's trying to use the over-the-air switch as an excuse to hide things ( ... )
