After Chaos had informed Cecil that neither Kain or Golbez were to be trusted, Cecil had vowed to watch them and make sure there would be no further betrayals. However, what he hadn't counted on was the two of them disappearing. Perhaps they'd gone into hiding, knowing Chaos was less than pleased with them. Whatever the case, Cecil was determined to root them out. Perhaps a little too determined, because he'd scoured so many of the areas already, and still no sign of either of them.
Weary from both battles with manikins and with travelling, the dark knight paused at the Old Chaos Shrine to rest while he planned his next move. If he could just figure out where they might be hiding... But he was snapped from his thoughts as he heard footsteps. Whether they were warrior or manikin he couldn't be sure, so instantly he drew his weapon.
"Who's there?"
