What: Once again, the forces of Cosmos and Chaos meet on the battlefield. Round 4

[ And coming up around that corner would be...

Tifa.

The sight of her gloves upon arriving were the first indication that their powers weren't switched this time around, and that's a great comfort to Tifa. But she had showed up alone and nowhere in sight of the crystal, so the barmaid had been hard pressed to find any sign that the others had made it there as well. Either that or work her way towards the center of the field on her own.

Easier said than done.

So excuse her for her failure to notice you until the last second, Firion. Please don't hold it against her for almost running into you. ] - Oh!

[ The hand movement didn't go unnoticed, though there was very little she could do to stop it. Still, a possible threat rendered a possible counter act. So the clench of her fists were more of an instinctual thing. Because while she recognized the voice from the Crystal, it was always hard to know or remember which voice belonged to which side. ] Cosmos.

[ The fact that he asked first instead of attacking was some indication to his loyalties. Still, she thought with a small furrow of her brows, it wouldn't have been the first time Chaos enlisted the services of someone who didn't belong there. ] Who do you fight for?

[ Unintentionally, she let out a soft sigh of relief and relaxed her hands after he declared his loyalties. Chris was counting on her to help with the planned stalemate, and the last thing she needed was to get injured in a fight before even reaching the halfway point where their forces were supposed to be gathered.

The fact that she didn't recognize his face was of little surprise. There had been many on both sides who were brought her and sent home with little word. And sometimes they were brought back on the opposing side. ] I was. But the tunnels make it a little hard to tell which way's the right direction.

[ And since she's not quite sure if he's part of the stalemate or if he's just one of those on Cosmos who are gonna go after the Crystal, she's just gonna not mention it for now. Not exactly good form to try and hold back someone you just met. Especially when they're on the same side. ]

Except last time there were at least arrows every so often... [ And they had been a BIG help at the time. At the very least, there was a sky to give a better indication on their location and just how far they had traveled. But there was none of that now. Here, it seemed like hours passed without her ever making any significant distance from where she started. ]

They would be useful now in - [ A quick pause, she chooses to use her words carefully. ] - finding Chaos' territory. That's where I'm heading.

[ Her eyes move to him, a look and a wordless question lingering just there on the surface: And you? Are you heading there as well? ]

[ War was a messy business, she knew, and neither side had it easier than the other. While good intentioned, the stalemate could possibly make their stay worse. Or even anger the Gods enough inflict punishment against those who would seek to usurp their rule. The Goddess Cosmos had been nothing but a kind and concerned deity since their arrival. But in war, anything was possible.

Still, no good came with mistrusting those of your own faction, whether they agreed with the stalemate or not. And it was with that thought that Tifa turned to her companion with a less tense expression and offered up a better topic to fill their conversation with. ] There've been some splits in the tunnels as far as I've seen. Maybe you'll know an easier way to decide which one is the right one to take.

[ Something about his words struck a particular chord within her, touching upon a thought that had been slowly working its way into her mind since their arrival. With each familiar face she saw, and each trick of memory she had experienced since being brought into this war, Tifa had started to doubt her own senses. But instincts were instincts despite whether or not they had been tampered with.

After a moment to think over the statement, she gave a single nod in agreement. And then with a single gesture of her hand, Tifa offered him a smile in return and gave the reigns to him. ] Lead the way.
