In fact, many things were currently messed up for Kain. His own mental struggle- a personality disorder unrelated to his abilities- had finally boiled over. Toothless wasn't here to fight beside him, and he couldn't bear the loss of his only true Chaos friend. Kuja had also done a lot to leave him unbalanced, and now... it was with a dark mental state that he began this battle. He didn't care who he ran into, he would cut them down...
...except his spear was nowhere in sight.
Oddly enough, this didn't seem to give him trouble, because for some reason he couldn't imagine himself lugging it around right now. When he tried to test his jumping capabilities, he found that he could rise on the air somewhat... to shoot a laser beam downward. This somehow came naturally to him, although he'd never been capable of it before. Was this to be the effect of this battle? Strange new powers? Kain smirked. He'd put them to good use if so.

"Ah, Kain." He greeted the other with a polite bow. "I take it all is fairing well in this war of ours." Albert thought since there was no mannequins around, that he could indulge himself in some much needed conversation.
"How do you fair, young man? You seem a tad...frustrated."
Reply
"Frustrated doesn't even begin to describe it. This place... everyone in it... they're all better off dead!"
Another evil smirk spread across his face.
"And I intend to make that happen."
Reply
"Kain, are you feeling---how should I say this? Are you feeling different today?" He wanted to ask the man if he was feeling 'psychotic', but that wouldn't be polite of him.
Reply
"I feel fine, Albert, in fact I'm better than I've ever been. I'm no longer holding back my true self."
All of his resentment and hostility had surfaced once the Darkness had fully claimed him. Kain didn't care. He would see that everyone suffered. Once he was close to Albert, he suddenly sprang upward, although not as high or rapid as his jumping. From that vantage point he glared at Albert... and then shot off a laser beam in his direction.

Albert wasn't sure what sort of madness overcame Kain today, but he was definitely not amused with this turn of events. It's bad enough that more than half of Chaos' warriors are psychopaths boosting the powers of a demi-god, but now Albert has to fight for his life using the mere skills of an Aborigine warrior.
"Calm yourself, Kain!" Albert shouted. "If we fight amongst ourselves, we'll never win this battle."
Reply
"You're wrong! The only way to end this is to end both sides! I'll see to it myself, if I must!"
Then he added another round of laser firing at him.

"Wait a moment now!" He yelled in prime annoyance. "You are talking about not only killing the Cosmos fraction, but Chaos as well? Kain! This is ridiculous!" While he wondered how successful Kain will be on such an absurd mission, Albert pushed such a thought aside.
"Focus your wrath upon Cosmos, you silly ninny!"

He ducked, but one of those boomerangs still struck his chest, clanging against the metal of his armor. He frowned in annoyance and then shot another laser blast toward Albert.
