[The crystal is held in someone's hand when it starts to record. There's the impression of clawed gauntlet fingers around it. What can mainly be seen, however, is a huge man completely covered in some rather impressive armor. The Edge of Madness makes for a gloomy backdrop. He doesn't seem to be aware that the crystal is recording him.]

[Golbez pauses. Voices speaking out of nowhere among those who serve Chaos aren't that unusual, but they usually reveal themselves shortly after- and they don't usually ask questions like that. Those are things more often heard from Warriors of Cosmos. He answers warily.]

This is far from the first battle between Cosmos and Chaos. Nor, it seems, is it the last. Even when one has been defeated, they are restored, to begin the battles anew.

...And what happens to those who are caught in the conflict?

We are revived with each conflict, and fight anew.

[Golbez doesn't like talking to a person he can't see. He's shifting around to try and determine where Jay might be, now.]

I take it you are new to Chaos's warriors.

[He pauses, not too thrilled to be part of this at all.]

And who are you?

Just another one of the unwilling victims here. And you?

[The lack of information he's been getting here is irritating. He doesn't like not knowing things.]

Tell me. Do you know of any others who are new to this cycle?

[Now there's a question he doesn't mind answering.]

There's a tall man with a cape, who calls himself a "vampire" on the Chaos side. And there's a ninja on Cosmos's side. Those are the only ones I've heard of so far.

Only a few. I see. And what of those who were present at the beginning of this round of battle?

Most of them have lost their memories. I don't know what the exact cause is, but I'd rather avoid that if possible.

It is part of the nature of the cycle. It is unsurprising. Those who were defeated in the previous battle do not remember the events that occurred.

Only those who were defeated...?

[This gives him pause. Sure enough, almost everyone he's spoken with has been on Chaos so far.]

How does Chaos choose his warriors?

He chooses those who are tainted by darkness- those who would, or who have, sown the disorder and destruction that he symbolizes.

Tainted by darkness...

[He pauses, remembering how the black mist had threatened to consume him. And it had been said that the black mist was the darkness in one's heart. So that's why Chaos has summoned him...]

[And he can tell that Jay does. There are few people on Chaos's side who don't realize why they're there.]

And just as our nature draws us to the side of Chaos, the warriors of Cosmos embody the virtues that she holds dear.
