[Don't mind the boy as the crystal accidentally picks him up as he talks to himself...]So here we are, expected to fight for a god without any information on the enemy. Most of the people here have lost their memories. Yet I remember clearly. I'll need to know the cause before it happens to me ( Read more... )

I wouldn't be so sure that this world should be saved.

Really? Then I wouldn't want to stick around when this world gets covered in darkness.

Neither do I. But if my suspicious are correct, it would be better than the alternative.

Endlessly fighting the same war. I know it sounds far-fetched, but it's the only explanation I can think of.

I know I'm not the only one with snippets of memory of Chaos and Cosmos fighting. Chaos is known as a God of discord. You said he wants to bring darkness to the world. I know how villains talk, and that's a classic metaphor for global destruction. Presumably Cosmos rules over order. Normally, order is a good thing, but it can also mean stagnation. Look at this world. It's made up of pieces connected by teleporters. It's only occupied by ourselves and crystal monsters. Does that seem like a healthy world to you?

Chaos wants to destroy Cosmos, but Cosmos probably wants to keep Chaos around for the sake of the world's balance. That means fighting this same war over and over again and erasing our memories each time to make sure we keep fighting. That's why people like the man in dragon armor remember dying. It explains my memories, too.

[This gives him a long pause. Not that Jay particularly cared about saving this world from darkness, but he had other priorities that aren't exactly in line with Chaos's goals.]

Then what happens to us if Chaos wins?

Either we're destroyed, or we return to our home worlds. I guess it's a bit of a gamble.

[But it must be one he already decided to take. This must be the reason he's fighting for Chaos now.]

...And there is one other risk you should probably be aware of. Without Cosmos to keep him in check, Chaos might not stop with the destruction of this world.

That's what I was afraid of.

[But this is a gamble he's not willing to take.]

If that happens, we'll have to do everything we can to stop him.
