Everyone... I know we're all worried for Cosmos, but this... is important.
I'd like to apologise for my conduct before the last battle. I should never have questioned Cosmos, and it was not my intention to worry anyone.
[Of course, he's talking about his state when Rosa's disappeared. But he won't say any more on that, so as not to cause Rosa

Not really- Baron is ruled by divine right, Mysidia by an elder chosen by the previous elder and the high mages. Baron is far larger, too, with a much more capable military and a longer history, um-
[She takes a deep breath. Time to recite pages and pages of memorized history book.]
The earliest records of a settlement in the area are from just under 800 years ago, records of influential families in a relatively abundant area trading land and goods with each other and forming a guard of their hired soldiers to better protect their shared land from outsiders. Over time, the settlement grew as more people came to work their lands and live under the protection of what was quickly becoming the strongest military force on the continent. The settlement went through many names until about 500 years ago, when conflict broke out between the families who shared the land and the military. The confusion and riots which followed are known as the 'Three Days of Blood', more lives were lost then than in any other point in Baron's history.
The ancestors of Baron's previous king ended the strife. The legend is that with a single speech he compelled every man to drop his blade in tears and comfort his neighbour. He created laws, laws which even the highest of men were bound to, and became the first king of Baron, a kingdom named for his firstborn son. His son would later succeed him and become King Baron the first. King Baron the first lacked his father's ability to create peace with mere words and, fearing a repeat of the three days of blood, he formed a Personal Guard of the strongest and most trusted soldiers in the army. Some time later, during the reign of King Baron the third, a member of the king's personal guard managed to befriend a mighty dragon. He taught their ways to the soldiers under him - I believe the ancestors of Sir Highwind were among them - and the Dragoon Knights were formed. Until the airship corps - the Red Wings - were formed in recent years, the dragoon knights were famed as Baron's most capable soldiers.

That's all very interesting, Porom. [Even if it didn't really answer his question, but he doesn't have the heart to say so.] You're very well learned in history, for your age.

The elder says that learning history is very important. He says that, um- that 'lasting peace is impossible without understanding and that understanding is impossible without knowing how each country became what it is'. But- there's a lot the libraries didn't cover about Baron. Most information about the history of its military, especially the dark knights, is a well-guarded secret.
Reply
I assume there's nothing on paladins in your libraries, either? [He guesses not, but if there's any information that could help him fight...]
Reply
Paladins aren't- the light sword isn't granted by the king of Baron the way the dark armour is. Or by any king. There are some texts but they're all legends and stories.

Mount Ordeals. It's in Mysidian territory. The elder ordered my brother and I to accompany you when you went to seek out the light there.

[He shakes his head.]
Kain said he travelled there as well, before he was brought to fight here.

[She throws out information in the hope that at least something will sound familiar. She's not quite sure whether he should mention 'also the townspeople poisoned you when we tried to rest at the inn and that was kind of unfortunate'.]
I- maybe he will find what he was looking for there. I hope he does.

[The sage's name he recognises too, though he's not sure why. After a moment of pensive silence, what he's remembered so far comes back to him.]
And Tellah... was one of those who helped me rescue Rosa, I think.

Right! I- um -my brother and I weren't there but there was probably a monk named Yang and an airship mechanic named Cid with you, too-
[...unfortunately the happiness of victory doesn't last too long. She pales and starts staring at the walls of her room with suspicion]
-um. Is-
-is there a 'summonstone' called the- the Drowned King Cagnazzo here, as well?
Reply
Yes. There's lots of different summonstones. [He lists a few at random.] Phoenix, Ifrit, Bahamut, Demon Wall, Titan... There's even chocobo and moogle summons.
[Then he noticed she's grown pale.]
What's wrong, Porom? They're no danger to you unless your opponent uses a stone in battle.

Porom, I -- I'm sorry! I didn't mean to frighten you again. Nothing is going to hurt you, I swear it.

[The voice is muffled and comes from offscreen.]

[Then an idea occurs to him.]
If you look hard enough within the realms, you can find a summonstone of your own to help you fight. Or... if you wish, you can have mine, so it can protect you even if I cannot.
