[the feed comes on and it becomes fairly obvious the user of the crystal has no idea how it works or that he's being recorded for that matter, if the fumbling around and different close ups of armor and occasional patch of skin are any clue. Not that said crystal wielder is caring overly much about the shiny orange stone. In fact, there's a fair

He's elated to see you, Gabranth.]

[there's a humourless laugh nearly bordering on hysterical] These are gods only by name, for 'fiend' would be a word more befitting for such tricksters.
((are they face to face? I kept it vague anyways))

I am no trick.
[He steps forward slowly, hands going nowhere near the blade at his hip. He didn't remember. He thought this was all another trick. He remembered what someone had told him, that Gabranth might not remember.
All they had been through, all they had accomplished... all for naught.]
Tricksters they may be, but they reward me with you, Gabranth.

Grr silence! [he bellows, wielding his blades and connecting them at the hilt] I've had enough of this farse! I am through with meaningless battles and mind tricks and cheap copies that babble nonesense! Just let it all end! [and he'll pinpoint those words with a powerful swipe of his weapon, though it speaks more of frustration and despair than any tactical fighting. Don't think you can master me with your tricks, Basch! [then his eyes widen in utter bafflement as the name slips his lips. Basch...why did that name sound so familiar, even more so than Noah? Why couldn't he remember?]

You remember my name.

[He takes a few steps closer, testing the waters.] They will come back in time, brother.

[he scoffs] I am well aware 'tis because of this mindless war. They took everything from me - my freedom, my memories, my pride. Am I always to be...just some useless tool... [those last words are mostly ehispered to himself]
[he glances back at his mirror image, so much different from the soulless puppets now that he's bothering to look] Brother... [he whispers, as if tasting the word on his lips for the first time. He brings a trembling hand to his own face, shaking his head in disbelief, his weapon held loosely in his other hand] How do I know...this isn't all some sort of illusion...that my reasoning hasn't simply left me...
