[If Ven could curse, dude.... The laugh, the voice, it's all scarily familiar. He has to admit that he was really hoping THAT GUY would never come.]

[It's just as well it's audio only, because the grin Vanitas is now wearing at hearing Ven is just as disturbing as his laugh.]

Last I saw you..hmph, it's a miracle you're still alive. You still fighting for those idiotic friends of your's?

[He can just hear that grin. It's enough to make him unconsciously flinch a little away from the crystal he's got.]

Of course I am! Why wouldn't I? Figures you're on Chaos' side, anyway.

Well for one thing...that darkness in Terra's heart. Figured he must've given in to it by now. And then there's your third useless friend. Aqua. Stronger than I thought she'd be, but still so weak. I think she'd be a little angry at Terra for all he's done in the worlds.

[Suddenly he holds the crystal closer, as if trying to freak Ven out even if they can't see each other.]

They haven't figured you out yet, have they?

They'll be just fine! They're stronger than you give them credit for!

[Ven just freaks out a bit and holds it even farther away. He's silent at the question.]

[He chuckles with dark amusement at the very thought of considering Terra and Aqua strong.]

If that's the case, how come you're running after them like a little scared baby? Worried they'd leave you behind when Terra gives in to the power he really wants?

But I know the truth, Ventus. When it comes down to it, they won't be able to protect you.

[Damn him for bringing up his abandonment issues.]

And don't try to kid me. Little baby Ventus is all worried his big grown up friends will leave him behind yet again. That they'll get stronger and he'll just remain the weakling that he is.

They won't do that. [He's got to believe that. If it comes to be true, then he'll cross that bridge when he gets there.]

Understand what, exactly? That you and your so-called 'friends' are too stupid and weak to realise the huge mistakes you're making in even bothering to try and fight against me?

They will need to know, and they'll know for sure once I've forged the X-Blade. And then they'll realise what a mistake it was to put their faith in such a weak brat.

By waiting for Aqua and Terra to fight me? As if they'd stand a chance. I'll kill them, then all you'd have left is nothing. I thought you didn't want to see your friends die because you are too weak to fight me yourself?
