[At first, the feed is black, though movement can be heard on the other end. The quiet shuffling is followed by a startled gasp for air and louder indications of movement. After a few seconds, the noise subsides and there is instead a bewildered and disappointed voice.]...How is this possible? A cruel Afterlife indeed if even it can't free me-- if

Were it under different circumstances, I would be more pleased to see you. However, I'm uncertain what your presence implies or where this even is. ...Your l'Cie brand, Snow. Is it still present?
Reply
Uh, the last time we saw you you weren't doing so well.

...I'm just as baffled as you are. [Unconsciously, he brings two fingers up to feel his temple as if he were looking for something.] By all rights, I should be dead. --Most concerning is what use the fal'Cie could possibly have for us here.
We are not Cie'th nor are we crystallized. I did have a dream before I awoke, but ... it did not feel like a Focus-- and yet my brand still remains. Do you, perhaps, have some answers?
Reply
Doesn't the whole thing just freeze while you're not on the fal'Cie playing field? I mean, right now there is no way possible to fulfill any focus and the fal'Cie know that - right?
[There's a scoff. him. answers?]
You'd have to ask Light. So far, they've told us nothing.
Reply
Not necessarily. The fal'Cie are hardly merciful creatures, especially in regard to l'Cie. They expect us to complete our Focus no matter what obstacles stand in our path. Regrettably, as that dream doesn't appear to be a new Focus of any kind, we must still find a way to accomplish our Focus...
[He pauses, eyes becoming quite steely.]
...Or to stop it entirely. [Even if you aren't the brains of the outfit, Snow, he sort of expects you to catch his drift.]
I expected as much. It does no harm to ask, however.

[that would mean learning to be in TUNE to things.]

I intend to keep searching for information regardless.

What faction are you in, Cid?
Reply
Chaos.
[Whoa, step back and take a breather-- no speech or long-winded explanation this time. ...Actually, he's carefully watching the crystal for your reaction, Snow. After all, your's are the easiest to read~.]

Guess we're on opposite sides, huh?
Reply
Seems we are. I can't say I'm overly surprised. While I will not hesitate to offer what help I can to you and the others, I can't promise anything. I believe we have been placed on opposing factions for a reason: ...a second chance to put a stop to Cocoon's demise.
Reply
And hey, this time? You won't need to fight us to save Cocoon, Cid. We'll do it together.
Reply
...I appreciate that, Snow. We'll just have to see what happens, won't we?
[This guy needs a smiling icon-- seriously. The man does not smile. Ever.]
Reply
The last time we met ... I didn't get that we just wanted the same things, but we were on opposite sides. This time, I won't underestimate you, Cid.
[... he's too pretty to smile.]
Reply
Indeed. Perhaps this time, things won't end so badly. [...it sounds more like he's trying to convince himself than Snow.]
[That's a good excuse. We'll go with that.]
