you guys don't have insurance?? thats terrible :o(
i thought you were a teacher? don't all teachers get benefits? honestly, sometimes i get sick of my job but i do know how important health insurance is and we get it for free. i know there are lots of people (my mom) who do really shitty jobs--she's a nurses assistant in a nursing home. terrible, horrible job just so she can have benefits for her and my dad. my dad has no insurance of his own because his employers are also cheap and won't pay for it.

the older we get the more important it is to get insurance. especially if you guys want to expand your family. unfortunately we don't have free insurance in this country and thats just a fact. in greece they have universal free health care, which is nice but the hospital services are really really bad. when my grandfather was dying in the hospital the doctors just didn't care.(they expected to be bribed to give people information) and the nurses had attitudes and didn't want to be spoken too. they yelled at my mom whenever she asked for anything. terrible stuff.

it would be nice if some kind of free health care was offered. i know a lot of people who don't have insurance and its terrible....

It's a tragedy. Other countries aren't better, or perfect, but there's no reason why we can't learn from them and develop a better system.

Sorry to hear about your grandfather. I've heard of similar things happening in Britain, which is terrible. I hope that wouldn't happen here in the U.S.

Well, Danielle and I are not teachers. We both are assistants. She works with one student in the classroom, while I work in various classrooms, with over 120 kids a day, everyday. I co-teach special ed, but that's more because the guy I work with... shall we say, needs help. At any rate, the school district limits our hours so they don't have to pay us well, or pay us health insurance. Once I get my credential (end of next year) I'll be a teacher and have health insurance.
