Warnings: Spoilers for the latest aaarc, but not really huge ones, unless you click the second link I guess. Ah, that link might be a little disturbing too.
Effects: Happiness and excitement at first, uneasiness, emotional pain (or something) and concern later.

It starts out dark, with just the melody of
a song, silently, in the black. But soon, there’s a voice. Those who know Leo would recognise it as his.
”Elliot, this is for you. This is to show my gratitude for ’Statice’.”
A hand holding a piece of paper, dressed in a white sleeve shows up in the darkness, and quickly the light spreads to show Leo himself, and he’s holding out said paper towards Elliot. He’s smiling, and it’s a genuine smile, not just one he wears to tease or act. It’s always hard to tell since half of his face is always covered by glasses and hair, though, so you would only be able to truly tell if you really knew him.
Elliot is smiling as well, one of those rare soft smiles he occasionally wears.
”This song just came to my mind, like an inspiration. I hope you like it. The title is… ’Lacie’.”
The scene shifts, the song is still playing in the background as a forest takes shape. A forest outside of a school, more exactly; the Latowidge school. Oz is with them this time, wide-eyed and looking at the both of them pretty intently. And not to forget the hands clenching Elliot’s shoulders.
”Before we met, did you guys play a song together?” he asks, as if it’s of really big importance.
Elliot just looks rather confused.
”…huh? How did you know…?” is his response (how intelligent).
”Don’t ask! I… want to know about that song. The writer, the name… Whatever’s fine!”
Elliot huffs (”ha”), and pushes Oz’s hands off him. ”Pfft. I was wondering what you were trying to say.”
”Hey…”
”I wrote that song,” Elliot says, oh so clearly, his tone annoyed as he turns around to move on back to the school. But halts a few moments later, first, as he answers. ”The song’s name is… ’Lacie’.”
If you look closely, you would be able to see that Leo wears an expression that seems almost troubled, disappointed maybe (but not really), a bit sad. And he is troubled, because he wrote that, he did, but Elliot is utterly convinced it was him… And Leo can’t for the life of him understand why. But he does know how, and…
It hurts to hear Elliot be so convinced about something that’s not true, when he knows how. But he doesn’t say anything, just swallows as he follows after Elliot and Oz, tries to banish the memories of that thing, that thing that makes Elliot forget…
(But
it flashes in his mind anyway, insistent, insistent to hurt, to wound, to stick a knife through his heart. As if it doesn’t already hurt enough.)
He’s not even sure where the pattern there lies, but it makes Elliot forget things and he can’t understand the reason for this one. It makes him uneasy, as if he’s missing something that he should know (yet he’s not sure he wants to know).
”You have a problem with that?!” Elliot adds to that for good measure, his sword resting on his right shoulder as he glances over the opposite one at Oz.
Leo tries to school his expression, pretends to look somewhere else. He’s still not saying anything, and he’s not going to either. He can’t say anything, just can’t. However small, anything Elliot forgets… he will not remind him.
Because he doesn’t dare.
