Crack is cheaper.

So Aaron and I took a litte field-trip to Best Buy earlier tonight to buy an S-cable for the purpose of running anime on the lappy to have it play on the screen of the TV. If we can actually get it to work, we'll host a Naruto Movie Party.

Of course, while we were there we had to scope out the anime section. Of course didn't have any animes we're currently collecting at reasonable prices (sometimes we get lucky). But a new anime did catch my eye. It was released in 2006 (in Japan), so I'm guessing it's probably new to the states since it was in a domestic release box. Have you heard of it? Le Chevalier D'Eon (the Knight of Eon). It looks amazing! Read all about it! And the kicker? It's based on historical events (albeit loosely) and a real person - namely Charles-Geneviève-Louis-Auguste-André-Timothée Éon de Beaumont (more commonly known as D'Eon Beaumont or "Chevalier D'Eon") who was a French cross-dressing spy-turned Queen's maid-turned dragoon-turned political preacher.

I really REALLY want to see this anime. Even though it's based on a very interesting real person, I can already see how the anime interpretation is going to be spectacular--for example, when he convinced the government to recognize him as a woman he went by the name Lia, whereas in the anime, Lia is Beaumont's sister who is murdered and later posesses him via magical means. And the anime reeks of Da Vinci Code-esque religious-political intrigue and dark mysteries. Did I mention I really, REALLY want to see this anime?

Damn the CRACK!!!
