I don't care if it's gorier or not. The whole idea behind George Romero's original Dawn Of The Dead was that it was completely satirical. It mocked everything from rednecks to the evening news. The kicker in the original was that it: A. was made in 1978 B. It was set in a LARGE indoor mall which were not as popular as they are now. The whole point of the mall being there was that even though the people were robotic zombies; they found some familiarity in the capitalistic society mall. (Which is why they mindlessly flocked to it.) The new one is set in a mall, and the zombies are more vicious-- I prefer the more robotic zombies because that's how they should be. The mall loses it's touch because it's the 21st century (duh) and malls are such a common, familiar part of our lives. I've checked the reviews on Http://www.rottentomatoes.com and it's gotten decent ones so far. I will check again tomorrow to see the rest of the reviews. So far I have agreed with the ones who gave the bad reviews. But, the people who gave it good reviews seem credible as well. Granted, I will still see it tonight, and I don't think it's going to suck as bad as the new "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" or "Freddy vs. Jason." I don't really enjoy T & A in horror movies unless they were made pre- 90's, because that seemed to be the standard; naked women for no reason. I just don't understand why they feel this urge to keep modernizing cult classics-- there is no point and some things need to remain untouched.
