Character Info
Real Name: Gina Meier
Codename: Dinah the Cat
Age: 63
Unit & Position: Wonderland's medic

Backstory:
She used to work under the name Regina, Regina Tegtmeier, back in the days of the Cold War. She was an independent spy, but the freedom that afforded her also meant there was no one to watch her back when everything went to hell. So, when she was finally fingered for her work, there was no Grimm, no organization willing to bail her out of jail. It's not that she didn't try reaching out to her acquaintances in the espionage field--no one saw her as worth saving.

So she served her term of thirty years in jail, the entire time with her nose in books. She took correspondence courses on medicine and pharmacology and toxicology, filling her days with study just to have something to do. Of course, the vast majority of her work was theory, but on the rare occasion that there was a problem in the jailyard or in the rinky little medical bay, Gina was welcomed to help.

She was released from jail in March of 2011, and spent the time since working as a street doctor, helping those that wouldn't or couldn't see an actual licensed physician. It was through this channel that Grimm first heard of her--an angel of mercy who could pull a bullet out of a wound without asking questions. Digging into her past, they decided she would be a good fit for one of their teams as a medic. And with Cherise's loss, Gina seemed perfect to slot into Wonderland.

Personality:
Mellow. Her time in jail has taught her great patience and calm, and she's vividly aware of how grandmotherly she seems. Oh, she'll be glad to tug someone's ear and drag them down to the medical bay when the need arises, but overall, she's every bit the old lady she seems. There's very little that shocks her at this point. There's also very little for her to live for without the people she connects to here and her work as a medic. If she's threatened with jail again, she will lash out against it strongly--captivity was fine, but she's tasted freedom again.

She's definitely fond of the youngest members of the organization, easily attaching to them like the children and grandchildren she never had. The first one there with kind advice when someone's heart gets broken or a bowl of chicken soup at the first sign of a sniffle. That isn't to say she's weak, though. She wouldn't show such warmth to someone her unit is keeping in captivity, certainly. It's just that her life's purpose is now the well-being of Wonderland and the kids of Grimm.

Gina also doesn't respond well to macho men trying to use their physical strength or presence to cow her. She tends to ignore shows of machismo out of spite, as such things always drove her up a wall during the Cold War--as a woman in the espionage industry, she often had men telling her she was weaker or lesser.

Reason for joining?:
Grimm allows her to mesh her espionage experience with the medical knowledge she acquired in jail. She feels useful again, part of a team.
