5 Tracks, 2 bans. You do the math.
Big Bang is back in Korea, promoting their hearts out! They haven't released a Korean album since like mid 2009? Is that right? Whenever it was, it feels like its been FOREVER. As we've all seen, GD & TOP kicked it off with their sub-unit and have been dominating the charts and music shows.
"High High" is an incredible club track with a video to match. I want to be at that party for sure and not just because GTOP are there but because it looks like hella fun. GTOP being there is just an amazing life-changing added bonus, tehe. The other track that has captured my heart is "Oh Yeah" featuring 2NE1's Park Bom. I especially like TOP's part in the second verse! There's something about that part I find so cute, definitely my favorite. Also, the special stage GTOP did for this song at a Gayo Daejun with all of 2NE1 was so awesome, it made me love the song even more.
GTOP is on a hot streak though, why stop there? "Knock Out" was dubbed the third title track with a slightly silly but ever so catchy chorus, "This is double double, double double, combo, double double, double combo. They say bubble bubble, bubble bubble, gum..." And an MV was released! Two Big Bang related MVs in less than a month?! What kind of wonderful heaven is this?! My heaven.
The video has grown on me a lot, I think thanks in large part to TOP. His facial expressions and body language are sort of strange. I feel like since the beginning of the GTOP promotions, we've seen a different side of him, performance-wise. And I don't mean just a matured style, I mean there is really something different about the way he performs. I'm not sure I can describe what it is I'm seeing but I know I can't be the only one so help me out, peeps.
GD does NOT go unnoticed. How could he? He looks like he is dressed for different themed nights at a gay club. Not saying anything bad about him, I love him to death. In fact, its exactly that kind of thing that makes me love him. Just saying that he is definitely an eccentric individual and he has no problems letting it be known.
My favorite part of the video, however, is a result of TOP and occurs near the end of the MV.
That little dance caused many squeals and giggles that I cannot explain. Whew. So GTOP has our hearts pumping. They are prepping us for a Seung Ri solo and a full Big Bang return. There is no better way to start 2011. So what's all this awesomeness without some double-standards and hating?
That's right, the Korean Ban Stick has struck GTOP twice already. First, the "Knock Out" MV. KBS, SBS and MBC banned the video, "because the title and lyrics used slang, which they believed would damage the national psyche." Are you freaking serious? LOL Thats really funny seeing as how GD said they got the title from a drama. That drama didn't get banned, so WTF? And second, a song off the album has been banned on MBC as well. The track "Don't Go Home" apparently has a rap by TOP that MBC finds questionable. The translated lyrics are as follows:

While some of that can be interpreted as somewhat inappropriate, SBS and KBS didn't see a problem with it. So MBC is just being overly critical, in my opinion. But that's alright because GTOP is doing well regardless of these potential setbacks; They won on M!Countdown last night and guess what? Of the Top 5 songs for the night, 3 of them were GTOP's. That's right. Bring on the bans, bitches.
And from what I understand there are two more tracks that are going to be promoted, giving GTOP a total of 5 songs out at one time. You should see the grin on my face.
