What a way.. What a day... To say farewell to Summertime

Sep 06, 2005 23:36

Well shit ladies and gentlemen I guess another summer has come and gone. With this in mind I have decided to bid farewell by listing some of my summer memories.

* Turns out I had no exams this year. Well that's not true I had many projects due. Perhaps the greatest of my exam projects was the one I had to do for History of Costumes 2. In true Devon fashion I had put off this huge assignement till the Monday before the Tuesday it was due. I ended up going to sleep and finished everything up on Tuesday morning (which is a great store.) Everything was due to David Howard by 11:00 a.m. and I turned it in at exactly 11:00 a.m. David just looked at me and said 'You just made it." in a sort of upset tone. Either way I pulled off a C- which meant I passed score.

* After reading Terry Goodkind's Wizard's First Rule. I Decided to go out and buy the entire series. For my book expedition I was joing by Miss Bethany White. I ended up spending 50 dollars but also ended up with every book from the series excluding the most recent release. Current progress in the series 4 books out of 11 read.

* Pat Bosworth wants to make a movie. I lied and told him I know something about film sound productions and wind up a member of his crew. This meant I got an all expenses paid trip to fabulous Block Island and a week at Andrew Willis' home over there. I met many of Pat's High School friends and got to see Joe Kid again which was a very nice way to spend a week. The movie didn't get finished that week but I have a feeling it will be finished by the end of the summer.

* During a visit to Coventry High School to check up on old teachers. I was drafted by Mr. Brissette to run lights for Class Day. After Class Day I had arranged an interview for a job as the Coventry Youth Litter Corp Supervisor. On Wednesday of that week I helped Christopher Daley with his nefarious plot to attend graduation with nothing underneath his gown. I never saw the outcome of his being naked at Graduation, since Dimitri and I decided to blow off our friends graduation and see Batman Begins instead. Luckily we were able to make it Niles in time for the Ice Cream Social and convinced all of our friends that we had attended Graduation that night. On Friday it was revealed that I had received the job as the Litter Corp Supervisor.

* After my high school friends had graduated, it was time to hang out as much as possible and for as long as possible. One Thursday Mike Scambio, Christopher Daley, and myself decide to head out to Sears where I will put in an application for work. Upon entering Sears I decided that wasn't the place for me and didn't put in an application. I did however see Helen Brennan in the drive thru line at Wendy's and ended up going through with her and catching up which was fantastic. Later after a stop at CompUSA where Chris bought Syberia 2 and I bought a MacCase and a stop at Best Buy where no one bought anything. We headed home. Shit of the matter was there was a message on my machine from Best Buy saying I had an interview on Friday... Turns out the application I sent in back in May had finally come up and they were going to give me a shot. The shot was a hit and soon I was an employee of Best Buy and had put my two weeks notice in for Blockbuster.

* I drove to Westerly to go to the 24 Hour Wal-Mart. My Mission to buy the Unicron Transformer. Scambio came with me and we ended up having quite the time. I didn't end up purchasing Unicron that night but did purchase him later on during the summer. That night after dropping Mike off at home at 2 a.m. I decided to race MeatLoaf's Paradise by the Dashboard Light. With one minute left and on Mishnock Rd. I got pulled over by an officer of the Law. My punishment for going 75 on Rt. 3 $250.00 ticket and a life long lesson.

* During my first week at Best Buy and as the Supervisor of the Litter Corp. My family went of Vacation to Baltimore Maryland. I saw the Red Sox play at Camden Yards against the Orioles and get their asses kicked. I also saw the house where Babe Ruth grew up. On the way home we stopped in Philadelphia and partook of the delicious Phillie Steak and Cheese at the most famous stands for it... Pat's and Geno's. In the end I enjoyed Geno's more. During the ride back I also read Maximum Bob by Elmore Leonard. Which eventually became a failed TV show on ABC.

* The Next few weeks sucked and ruled at the same time. Amanda had started working at Blockbuster again and all my shifts were scheduled with her. Also when a manager was unavailable Brad came down from Narragansett and I got to see him. Sadly I knew that the days like this would soon come to an end. I was enjoying my job with the Youth Litter Corp. I had some really cool kids on the staff and figured it wouldn't be too bad cleaning up trash since I liked my coworkers. Again I was also working at Best Buy which for a brief time meant I was working three jobs and really juggling my time. Brad told me about his audition for the Actors Studio and I was filled with immense pride for my friend. I was also told by Amanda that she would be going to New York as well at the end of the Summer. Soon my employment at Blockbuster came to an end, bringing the number of People that left Blockbuster during Doreen's absence up to 4.

* This weekend I got the crazy idea to go down to Framingham Massachusetts and see Batman Begins again this time in IMAX. Since Pat wanted to see it in IMAX and Chris is always up for adventure I called them up and asked if they wanted to go. We also got in touch with Joe Kid and he met us at the theatre and it was quite a time had by all. That day we all had our Quizno's cherries broken and then Pat's car ran outta gas. Which meant Chris and I had to push his car to the Gas Station. All in all though the day seemed completely pointless everyone seemed to have a damn good time.

* The usual Gang... Meaning Christopher and Michael Daley, Beth White and myself all went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The night was assensuated for myself since I ended up just walking in and seeing it for free

* My parent's went away and as the old saying goes, when the parents are away the children will play. I had a great time. I did a whole bunch of stuff with Melissa Corbett and on Wednesday I had free tickets to see The Island. I took Michael Daley and as it turned out the movie was the Uncut Director's edition. I also purchased Riki-Oh: The Story of Riki and watched it that very night with Mike and Christopher Larose. On Friday we took Scambio to get his Driver's Permit and also saw the Island again, this time with Scambio, Chris Daley, Melissa, Dimitri, Rob, and Nile.

* Brad is accepted into the Actor's Studio.

* Outside of the Community Center before work I run into Kate Ferdinadi. Who invites me to see Studi Reps show at Perishable Theatre. I go and am gretaly entertained. I am also able to catch up with Pat Bos, Joe Kid, Helen, Kate, and Erin. All in all a fun night of "playing the game" as my father would say... Whatever that means

* The remainder of the Summer was filled with work. However I did find the time to go to Denny's and play Clue, I also got to go Bowling with Adam Sebzda as well as Scambio and Chris Daley. I took two drives up to North Attelboro. I got some A & W root beer at A & W root beer. Purchase Shaun of the Dead, Undeclared, and Clonus (a.k.a. the original Island), I helped Pat finish his movie and got some free food from Greg Turner. All in all the summer ended nicely. I am however more than ready for school and hope everyone else had as cool a summer as myself.

I hope you enjoyed my little recap. I'm sure there's a bunch I missed but that's why you can edit entries. If you have anything else to add please feel free to comment. Here's looking forward to a quick School year so we can all enjoy a great summer next year. Peace out my Sneegro's

DEV-MAN
