Picture Post, part 2

I have a few pictures that I wanted to post... here you guys go!

The WDW gate on FL-536, the way I go to work every single day. And yes, it is the "Happiest Celebration on Earth", which is the celebration of 50 years of Disney theme park magic, meaning that right now, there are new bits of worldwide magic in every park! (Oh LORD, I feel like the spiel on the Monorail) At the Magic Kingdom, there's Cinderellabration (from Tokyo Disneyland), a stage show where the story continues and Cinderella is coronated as a princess. Belle, Aurora, Snow White, and Jasmine (and respective princes) make cameos. Then at EPCOT, there's Soarin! (from Disney's California Adventure). Soarin! is a simulation hangglider ride over California. The ride is awesome, but right now the wait is atrocious. I don't even want to know what it's going to be like in peak season. You really feel like you're over California, and it's WONDERFUL. At the Disney-MGM Studios (you can seriously hear this from across the park at Tower), there's Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show (from Disneyland Resort Paris). I haven't seen it yet, but it is described as a high octane show, full of stunts performed by stuntmen who are movie caliber. Amazing. But wait... what's at Animal Kingdom...?

This is the "new magic" at the Walt Disney World resort. It's not the best picture, but this is a picture of Expedition: Everest at Disney's Animal Kingdom. The ride is excellent... it isn't officially open yet, but the official opening is in April. Much fun. The entire ride centers around a expedition up into the mountain, where you end up meeting the legendary Yeti. And the Yeti? OMGSOCOOL.

Hey look, it's a huge hat! *wink* The story behind the hat is... well... remember how the copy of the Grauman's Chinese Theater was formerly the centerpiece of the Disney-MGM Studios? What happened is, Grauman's management had an agreement with WDWI that they couldn't market anything having to do with the Chinese Theater image. Accidentally, they did market it, and Grauman's management said that they either had to 1) tear down the replica and build something new in its place, or 2) hide it with something. So... not wanting to tear down their central attraction (and let's admit, although all the attractions are awesome, the Great Movie Ride is the star of the park), they hid it with a ginormous hat. Congrats. XP

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at about 8:55 am, as I was walking to Rope Drop. I had to turn around and get a picture of it on my phone. I REALLY want to take a picture of myself standing in the middle of Sunset in the morning before the guests get there... in full costume. :D

That's myself and TJ, our very awesome superstar bellhop. Not only is he very nice and funny as hell... but he's got the best theming at Tower. He was the one who wrote everything... all the spiels that say "Do Drop In Again" and stuff like that. This picture in particular, is fantastic to me... because of the way we ended up taking it. TJ was in Lobby, I was in Library. And we were SLOOOOOW. Every time I would do a show, I'd start falling asleep... and that's not cool. So, before the doors closed, I'd go talk to TJ, and I'd reenter the library when the show got to the part where Serling was showing them the service elevator. And I'd keep doing that. We ended up talking about a lot of things... like, the stuff that used to be on the Tower Directory (Evil Tower U R Doomed), all the nifty little things about the Lobby. And at some point, I looked at him and said, "We need to take a picture together. And you have to do the eyes." And he laughed his very welcoming TJ laugh and said okay. Later on, I had just gotten my bump off, and he was at the elevator with me, and when we got out on the second floor, he took the picture with me outside the breakroom. :D The funny thing is... I'm a bellhop, yes, but I'm a fan too! I actually will stop and stand at TJ's load to watch him with the guests. :D He's a little creepy, but since I know him now, I know that he's not really.... creepy at all. It's fun.

Number of Rides on Tower: 29 (due to a lot of midshifts and tired times... not to mention Early Releases and days off)
