006; action (and accidental audio, via a curious cat)

[Milo and Crackers Mei Yin Fluffy are curled up in an armchair in the Joe West common room, in the middle of what appears to be a very riveting conversation.]

OH YOU, CLOPIN. <3 iswimprettygirl August 22 2010, 06:20:04 UTC

[OH MY GOD WHAT. Milo jumps and nearly falls out of the chair; this, in turn, sends an unhappy cat falling to the ground. (Landing on its feet, of course.) Don't mind him whirling around trying to spot Clopin now.]

[Don't worry, Clopin doesn't mind. He's just going to laugh himself sore while Milo spins in his chair.

Clopin has been lounging by the door of the common room for the past ten minutes listening to Milo and Fluffy discuss Milo's dateless night. AND HE HAS THE PERFECT SOLUTION. You're welcome, Milo.]

[Milo's not sure whether to be offended, embarrassed, or slightly more offended. A little bit of each will do best. Thanks, Clopin. Thanks.]

[Well, Milo, some of us are proactive] You wound me, M'sieur. Don't you have anything to say?

But your busy schedule simply cannot open for the likes of myself. I understand, but I really must insist.

My expected date is taking longer than I'd like with her invitation. There are colors to be coordinated, damn it. And by this time, most of the school has either paired off of deigned the dance beneath them.
Now, when I hear a fellow teacher mention their difficulty in finding a date, I feel it is within both of our interests if I offer an invitation.

It's--no, it's not that I don't want to go or that I can't find a date, it's just... The person I'd like to go with might not be entirely. Er. Available. B-but then again, it's still possible that she will be?

Yes, I understand, we have the same predicament. Wouldn't we both benefit if we went together?

[It makes sense.

...No, it doesn't.

Er, why don't we just...wait to see if our original dates come through?

Because I need to look for a suit now, not the day before the dance! If that silly woman won't let me know in advance what I should wear, she can damn well buy a new dress.

What are you wearing, anyway?

[don't mind Milo TOTALLY NOT NOTICING HER]

...I have a suit.

[he does. it's...a bit out of date.]
