[Helga Sinclair set three boards up, carefully arranging each of the pieces. According to the forms she'd filled out, this "club" would last ninety minutes every Tuesday evening. However, she understood the importance of flexibility.
The students and staff who attended could leave when they chose or stay later if games went past that time. After all, chess games, if played properly, could take quite awhile.
As she toyed with one set's black queen, Helga looked at the door to the hallway. It wasn't that she wanted him to come. Why should she? But she... wondered... if he would. After all, he'd been her partner-- chess partner for years. Over a decade.
But between the students coming to learn and the teachers who already knew the game, she'd find a new partner.
Helga set the queen in the proper place before she sat down to wait.]
(Note: Feel free to threadjack, etc. to challenge people to matches. As for playing... be as vague or specific as you want. Unlike Helga, my own chess knowledge is very, very limited!)
