[It had been a long time since Aladdin had seen Rapunzel around the campus. So long, in fact, that he'd started to wonder if she'd left for the summer.]

Rapunzel? Hey! I wasn't sure you were still at the Academy.

[Rapunzel perks up when she hears Aladdin calling her, and she beams at him]

Of course I'm still here! Where else would I be?

I don't know. Exploring, maybe?

[That gets her to laugh a little]

So, what have you been up to if you haven't been exploring?

[Her eyes light up a bit and her cheeks start to go bright pink]

Weellll... It was my birthday last week, and- and Eugene's been celebrating it with me all week~

For a whole week? Wow! That must have been fun.

[He grinned - unable to help it - when she started to blush.]

[She nods excitedly]

I- I've never celebrated my birthday for that long before! It was so exciting- and so much fun!

What sort of things did you do?

We saw the lantern festival back home!

The lantern festival?

[letdownmyhair]

Mmhmm! [She adjusts the way she's sitting so she's facing him properly while she starts rambling, eyes lit up in excitement]

See- Every year they have this big festival in the Kingdom. There are games and shops and booths and- and music and dancing... All day long! And then when night falls, everybody lights up these lanterns and send them floating up into the sky. It's the most beautiful thing in the world, and all my life I'd see these lanterns from my tower and I'd just dream about what it might feel like to see the actual moment they rose into the sky and lit it up...

[She trails off there, her gaze distant and dreamy. And then she lets out a content sigh.] It was the best day ever~

[Rapunzel was so animated when she spoke that it was easy to get swept up in her descriptions.]

It sounds beautiful. Maybe I'll get to take Jasmine one day.

[She snaps out of her reverie to nod enthusiastically at him]
