[Young Jane hobbles over to the stand on crutches, due to spraining her ankle during the recent pirate attack on the school. A look of desperate hope appears on her face when she sees the good (as far as she knows) doctor's charms.]

I'd gladly like to buy a charm, sir. Two-- n-no, three in fact. How much do they cost?

Wonderful! Plannin' t'protect the whole family, eh? Wise choice. Let's say... seven pounds each? [He gives her a wink.] I charge ten for most, but since you're bein' such a responsible little girl an' all, I'll give y'all a discount.

Oh my. That's... still quite expensive.

I can buy only two right now. Could you possibly hold onto the last one for me until I have the money..? P-please, sir?

R-really?

Oh... y-yes sir. During that horrid pirate incident... b-but the nurse has assured me I should recover soon.

[She clutches her newly bought charms a bit tightly.]

Um... can these charms possibly protect against pirates as well?

'Fraid not. Haven' developed anti-piracy charms, t'be honest. Haven't seen a real need. [He beams at her.] But you've alerted me to a promising new market, certainly!
