[On this warm summer night, a light shines like a star on the Academy campus...
Ray cheerfully wanders with his lantern glowing brightly, quietly humming a familiar tune to himself. He was glad to be back, and full of magic again!
Numerous weeks ago, for whatever reason, the light in Ray's lantern had started to go dimmer with each passing day. He knew his magic was running out, and if this kept up, he couldn't stay in (mostly) human form for much longer. Ray himself attributed this to the curfew, and the fact he couldn't see his beloved Evangeline very often, to this sudden lack of power... but what he thinks and what's actually true may be two very different things. Either way, all he could do about it was try to get back to New Orleans to see Mama Odie about this problem.
Luckily for him a steamboat happens to go between New Orleans and the mainland often, so hopping aboard managed to get him back home and to the Academy again just in time.
... Though it did happen to take a little longer than he expected.
But that didn't matter all that much to him now. Mama Odie had helped him restore his magic and everything was just fine again. He'd just gotten off the tram, and was finally back where he needed to be. The stars were shining, illuminating the beautiful summer night sky, as he stares up lovingly at his dear Evangeline while he wanders.
This was the first truly wonderful night he was having since he first arrived, and he only hoped things could finally stay this way now...]
