[ Her students may have noticed the unmistakable rise in the Captain's mood lately. Things were going well, admit it or not. By 'well', that meant nothing really was bothering her in the least. She had one less very important thing to worry about, her feelings. Now she had a little room to stretch, and perhaps do what she wanted, instead of being forced to do something to distract her. Today's activity? Letter-writing.
While she wasn't sure of the time frame her letters would arrive to her family, she had but one person to write to, her sister, of course about recent events. While her and her sister did differ on more than a few things, such as outlook on what careers a woman should have, and perhaps fashionable taste, they were still women, still sisters, and she thought it suiting to at least let her know of the good news.
So she sits in her office, door open, pen scratching away at the first second third draft. Her need for perfection was quite obvious. Feel free to bother her; but only startle her at the cost of another draft. ]
