[It's a beautiful day outside. The sort of day that normally finds Scar baking on his favorite rock on the quad or lazily snapping at birds with no plans for any real pursuit once they take wing into one of the flowering magnolias

MISTER SCAR! [Came the horrified shout of the resident egghead. The library was one of his favorite places to lose himself so it wasn't uncommon for him to be there. It WAS uncommon to see one of the veteran teachers tearing apart books!
He stomped on over, looking down at the destruction with a mixture of horror and anger.]
Yes, well, I cannot be held responsible for the damages sustained in the effort. [He glares down at the book again, and raises his paw when understanding fails to dawn on him yet again.]
And the Librarian appears!piratacodexMay 12 2011, 17:21:32 UTC
[Teague was simply taking rounds to slowly put away the books left on the tables when he heard the rip of paper.
It was a quiet place. Even the smallest sound could be heard quite easily.
So, with that sound alerting him that someone was ripping pages of books, the ship captain ambled himself towards the sound, stopping short to see the familiar lion lounging with a mass of papers on the ground.]
[Scar flicks a glare at Teague - he's still not the greatest fan - then spares the scattered paper a fleeting glance. In his defense the tears are mostly clean and the book isn't particularly old or valuable, but then again even if they had been, he still wouldn't care.]
[Well, presumably he wasn't a fan of the pistol that was hanging at Teague's waistband more than he wasn't a fan of Teague. Which was understandable. Guns weren't always the best thing in the world.]
Ye do realize that there are rules against damaging property that doesn't belong to ye. Even if it's just a book.
Ron needs to read all these things to Scar. Like a bedtime story. Y/N?namelessidekickMay 12 2011, 20:50:31 UTC
[He was just passing through the library--god only knows why. And just his luck, when a piece of paper flies in his way and covers his face, preventing him from seeing anything.
He flailed and fell over, pulling down the paper to see none other than his philosophy teacher, Mr. Detention, ripping pages out of a book.]
I'm no expert on the whole "using books" thing, but I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to be doing that.
[ While she absolutely loathed being anywhere near the library now? Meg still had books to return. Catching one of her only teachers wasn't all that much of a surprise. What he was doing though? She could've chuckled. But she didn't. ]
[The library soon became Dory's favorite hangout spot on campus. She could read and read and read with little interruption, free to spend all of her spare time with her nose buried in reference and non-fiction books (she hasn't moved on to fiction yet-she tried, but keeping reality separate from not-reality was really difficult for our poor not-fish).
When she hears the distinct sound of pages tearing, she pulls herself away from writing notes on world geography and hops out of her chair, heading toward Scar.
She's not expecting to see such a large creature, so when Scar comes into view, she pauses mid-step. Cat, she thinks. No. Big cat. Big cat... what's a big cat called? I should leave.]
[Scar gives a sigh -- it sounds more like a growl -- and he closes the book with a flick of his paw. The movement leaves behind a shallow slash in the cover.]

At the moment, the latter.

I am afraid I cannot help it in this situation. [He extended his claws with a flourish.] These can be rather cumbersome at times, you see.
