[Mozenrath was in one of his rare 'pleased' moods. He had the blood of his mortal enemy, the Princess sufficiently ruined, and the pointless classes were still canceled.

There he sat in the very public Quad, in broad daylight, one legged crossed over the other as he casually munched on a pear. In his gauntlet covered hand was a new book, which he ( Read more... )

[She had originally planned on going outside to read a new book as well. But once she got her window open and caught the scent of the fresh air and the outside world, her interest in the book had waned. With an eager smile and encouragement from Pascal, Rapunzel looped her hair around the hook on her window and swung down into the quad with a joyous "WOOHOO~!!"]

[Oh. Gee. How. Cute.

Except not.

The sound made him skip over a line, which he then went back to read over again with meticulous care, even murmuring to himself out loud.]

... torture of the victims, which gradually mounts in intensity and ends in their slaughter. [he paused] Well that seems like a waste of a servant. Then again, they did have quite a few... hmm...

[See how good he is at ignoring you, Rapunzel? Soooo good.]

[Oh, those flowers under her favorite tree over there look beautiful! And so over there she will be running, all of that hair trailing loose behind her. Rapunzel's too excited over the feel of grass under her bare feet and the beautiful colors of the flowers to even notice Mozenrath, period. And then she looks up a bit, and--]

[OHMYGOSH WHAT KINDS OF FLOWERS ARE THOSE?! She's running in a different direction to gather up these new flowers that she's spotted. So of course she doesn't realize if her hair happens to whip against somebody who happens to be sitting in the way. Why would she?]

[The hair seemed to defy gravity, and it was also heavy enough to knock his book straight from his hand. He had a firm enough grip on his pear that it managed to survive, but it's not like he would want it after it was rubbed on by some idiot's hair.

So he dropped it, and instead used his free hands to latch onto the offending locks. He held them firm as he stared at the bounding girl, waiting for her to go far enough to feel the restraint.]

[Naturally, she feels that firm tug just before she reaches her destination. She staggers a bit, arms flailing out to each side of her to catch herself before she falls over completely. Wincing, she immediately spins around to grab at her hair and tug right back.]

H-Hey, what--!!

[While he wasn't physically strong, he had magic to help him cheat. So when he tugged she went jerking towards him. When she was close enough he gave a pointed look to the book she made him drop.]

I just bought that. Didn't your mother teach you any manners? [Not that he knew that Rapunzel even had a mother.]

[She blinked up at him in shock as the distance between them was closed by her stumbling, pushing some of that hair out of her face so that she could see properly. She looked at the book on the ground, blinked, then looked back up at him.]

Oh... I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to, uh, bother you...

I'm so sure.

[He vaguely recalled what happened the last time some whelp knocked a book to the ground. It was interesting how he had not seen even a hair of her since. The thought of that made him smirk slightly again.

Regardless, he was feeling as though he couldn't be bothered with this creature and released her hair.]

[She took a second to gather up all her hair into her arms, then another second to just look anxious about everything. And then she looked down at the book on the ground... and blinked.]

... What were you reading?

Oh, this? It's about puppies and kittens and sunshine. Here. [He leaned over to scoop it up and hold it out to her.]

Enjoy.

[She immediately drops the hair and steps closer to accept the book, eyes wide in excitement]

You... You'd lend it to me...??

[And then she yelps, all but throwing the book back onto the ground and attempting to scoot back and away from it, eyes wide.]

I mean that was so... so... [She's making vague gestures with her hands, obviously unable to find the right word at the moment]
