Memory loss to that extreme a degree can most usually be attributed to bodily injury of some kind. Otherwise... Emotional damage, perhaps, a psychological reaction of self-protection. But I digress, I suppose.

No, I'd be willing to bet that it can somehow be explained. One simply does not, ah. Fall in love for no good reason. Likewise, one does not lose all memory without a reason, as unexplainable as it may seem.
Dear lady, I believe that I do know. I just also know that I can explain such a reaction. Love and amnesia are both explainable phenomena, at least the vast majority of the time.

Don't misjudge me, of course. I have witnessed and do feel very deep... Affections, I'd say, but I do not believe it's as simple as 'just because.'
