[Hiccup spent a good portion of the day (and the night) working on this gift for Valentine's Day, a holiday he doesn't actually have any experience with. As it came nearer, though, Hiccup eventually asked what it was and figured that he probably ought to give a gift to Astrid for it.
Which was why he pretty much holed himself up in the forge. Thank goodness he still had scrap metal from when he had to remake his prosthetic. He just finished the gift, having added the final touches to it. With that, he slumped down in a nearby chair, giving himself a short breather.
Hopefully no one wanted to enter the forge, for whatever reason, because uh, the doorway was kind of blocked by a mess of scrap metal on the floor.]
