[Ariel had been sitting on the edge of her bed, humming and running her fingers through her hair. She jumps when she hears the tapping at the window and turns around.

Her mouth drops open. She quickly runs to the window and pushes it open.]

[Laughing, he floats lower so the carpet is at the edge of the window instead. He sits up so he can reach both of his hands out to her, inviting her to get on the carpet, as well as get a hug.]

It's a magic carpet! Come with me! I want to show you everything!

[He happily pulls her up onto the carpet. Once she settles next to him, he wraps an arm around her and suddenly the carpet rises. Higher and higher until the school was small -- the stars bright and beautiful overhead. The moon wasn't full anymore, but it was full enough that it cast a lovely silvery light on everything.

Eric took in a deep breath and glanced down at her to check and see how she was taking it.]

[Ariel's eyes are wide, and they are continually getting wider. She holds on to Eric's shirt a little when they rise, but eventually lets go as she looks over the carpet's edge and gasps at how small the Academy's become. She looks back to Eric with a huge smile on her face.]

Oh, Eric, it's so beautiful. I've never seen anything like it!

[Her eyes travel upwards to the stars and she sighs happily, snuggling up against him. This is exactly why she wanted to leave the ocean. Just - all of this.]

[And he wasn't talking about the surroundings. Sure, the sight was still thrilling, but to him there was something so much more important to focus on. There was the girl who he wanted to married, she struck him like lightning. Her smile and lust for life was infectious and her love for the world made his heart pound.

It would be just so perfect to kiss her here, where only the stars could see, but unfortunately the magic would still know. So he contented himself with hugging her instead. Carpet took this cue to start a slow, romantic flight over the ocean.]

[Eric was definitely not the only one who was thinking about kissing. Ariel, too, was thinking how perfectly romantic it would be to kiss Eric right then and there, but she knew she couldn't. And, to be honest, she didn't really know when she could.

She looks down at the ocean, her eyes traveling over it's midnight blue surface. She didn't miss it down there, not one bit. Being here with Eric was more than she could ever ask for. She wraps her arms around him and lays her head against his chest, listening to his heart beat.

Everything was so still. So perfect.]

[Well, whenever it may be... Eric would wait forever. In the end Ariel was the only girl for him, and it didn't even matter whether or not he could kiss her. He would always be at her side.]

I never thought I'd actually manage to make it on land. But -- after that day on the beach I was so sure things would work out.

[She sighs happily.]

[His face was a little heated with that confession, but he was so happy about everything that he really had no reason to be embarrassed.]
