[Even now, night falls. Goliath wakes and doesn't even think to check his communicator. What would it tell him that he can't already see with his own eyes

[Jasmine heard that roar, instantly recognizing it, though it was much more ferocious and dangerous than she had ever pinged Goliath for. Aladdin was nowhere to be found, and Mozenrath could be anywhere. Alone and scared, Jasmine first ran to her window, trying to find the source of the noise...
That didn't work well. Even at night, the Mist was vaguely visable in the distance, and it drew her in. She had to look away, 'less she be stuck staring at it for ages again.
Realizing that wouldn't work, she began to run through the halls, looking for the ever-elusive Goliath.]
[She won't find him inside, but a huge, dark shape eclipses the window suddenly, crawling up the building, accompanied by the sound of vicious claws crushing holes into stone. To anyone who did not already know a friend with that silhouette, the sight would be chilling - and maybe still is.]
[Jasmine couldn't have said it better. The shape, the roars, the clawing; it was all terrifying. The poor girl had to remind herself several times that it was Goliath behind those horrid sounds, not the Mist, not Strangelings, not a monster, and not Mozenrath.
She ran to the hallway window, and threw it open. Any staff members would have been furious, but she didn't care. She was already going to hell in a handbasket.]
Goliath?
[She called out his name a second time, too, unsure of if he could hear her or if he was too high already.]
[To anyone else in the Academy, that noise would have been a terrifying accompaniment to an already terrifying situation. To Elisa, it was more like a life line in the darkness.
She was frightened and she was furious with herself for being frightened. She was finding it difficult to keep her mind on the task of protecting the Academy when every fibre of her being wanted to be back in Manhattan with the rest of her loved ones. In many ways, that familiar brought her back to the here and now.]
Goliath!
[She headed off at a run, hoping fervently that she was going in the right direction. And that this wasn't some trick of the Mist's.]
[She paused next to the door, willing to run up the stairs if she thought it would help but aware - even now, when it was difficult to think clearly - that it would be easier for Goliath to climb down and reach her.]
[Aisling hears the roar. Unfortunately she doesn't recognize it; rather, the paranoia caused by the Mist reminds her of something else entirely. She races through the halls on all fours, her wolves close behind. Though in her state, she's going the wrong way.]
[Hearing the scream, Goliath pauses mid-climb and hangs to peer through the window. There is enough fear gnawing at the edge of his conscience from the mist that this is not the time to be frightening students himself, though this is hardly a convenient time to meet someone new. SO he's relieved to spot Aisling and . . . wolves?]

ELISA!
[Even if he cannot see her, his voice carries. He stands a chance of reaching her this way.
He climbs quickly back to the top of the building. Elisa wouldn't be sheltering inside any more than he would, not with an academy to protect.]

How far has it spread?
[Because he didn't exactly get to see the map before his communicator stopped working.]
