[ Regret, anger, and sorrow would be pretty accurate to describe how Kida feels right now.
She swore in almost every language she could think of, her heart wrenched. The queen couldn't bear the loss of her father, but now?
She'd lost her whole country.
She concluded that she was the last of her kind left----and she felt guilty for it. She felt as though she should've gone back home when she could've, and maybe, just maybe...
They were everything she'd ever known, the people she'd spent a thousand years fighting for, living with, and reigning over.
And they were all gone. And what of the Heart of Atlantis? Had it perished as well? Were her days numbered as she knew it?
With ease, a bitter fist punched a hole in the plaster next to her dorm room door. The queen wasn't sure whether or not she was to feel scared, saddened, or furious. She couldn't be scared, not when she had to lead her people---her people who she would never know were alive or not.
Kida retracts her fist from the wall, and slides down onto the floor, mumbling ancient Atlantean scripture between soft sobs, and begging her father for a sign that her people were still alive. ]
