[The sun rose over the tree tops of the academy, barely. It was early... Mulan didn't like waking up early, but she could when she had to. She straightened the bottom sheets of the bed for what must have been the twentieth time and took another look at the small amount of luggage she was bringing back home. She didn't have to bring much, considering most of her traditional clothing was back in the Land of Dragons.
Her stomach was tied up in knots, it felt like it was eating her from the inside. She twisted her hands together then took a deep breath and climbed up the ladder to Kuzco's bunk.
Her plan was to wake him up, inform him she was leaving, and then go. That was it. That was all she had to do.
Then why was this so hard?
Her hand hovered over his shoulder for a short time, before it moved to his face, pushing a bit of hair out of his closed eyes. She missed this... she missed him.
If you asked her to explain their relationship, she wasn't sure she would be able to. All she knew for sure was that Kuzco made her feel... wanted. Needed. Not for who she had become, but who she had been all along.
She gathered up all the courage she had in this moment and kissed him softly.]

She jumped off the ladder to the top bunk in such a rush she almost trips over the bottom rung. She gathered up the rest of her bags and chanced one last look back to Kuzco... before smiling a bit and running off]
