[Jane is in her room, having avoided all the invitations to Christmas parties thus far.

The door to the room is cracked open, and she's stretched out on her bed, writing a few letters. She has a record player on the floor... and a song is playing.]

[Hearing the song makes her curious, so she pokes her head in.]

What song is that?

Mr. Bing Crosby singing "I'll be Home for Christmas."

[She smiles a little and sits up on the bed.]

Come on in.

Oh. I like it!

[Well, since she's been invited, then it's alright. So she steps into the room.

And she looks around...]

Where is it coming from?

Here.

[She points at the record player and then sits down by it.

The things fascinate her, even though she grew up with them.]

See the grooves? That records the sound, so when this little needle goes across them, the sound comes out here. [She points to the horn]

[Kneels down to look at the record player. She's never seen one before.]

Really? Amazing! So sound just comes out of it?

It does!

My mom sends me records to play.

That's nice of her.

Do you have more, then?

I do!

Not very many, since they cost money, but I have some.

[She half crawls under her bed to pull out a small box with records.]

Want to hear some?

Yes!

[Sits down next to Jane as she crawls under the bed.] I don't think there are any records like that where I'm from.

[Jane carefully removes the needle then disc of her Christmas song and switches it for another, letting Aisling watch the record spin before gently lowering the needle to make the song start playing.]

[Aisling keeps her eyes on the spinning record, fascinated. She jumps in surprise when the song starts to play, but she still sits and listens.]

[Jane can't help but grin, watching Aisling. She's older, but... her reaction to the record player kind of reminds Jane of her little brother, Danny.]
