YAY! Flattery through imitation outdoes my terrible writing every time!

My bulk obsession with MI was at an age when I never really questioned it. They needed energy now they have it yay? But watching MU really hit home to me how much of a big deal this laughter thing is. As far as I can tell the scaring industry has VERY tight similarity to the modern day athlete, if we got all of our electricity from football that is. Which in our society would be a HUGE DEAL like, what we have now compounded together with a real and actual dependence on the sport for daily necessities?

The more I pick it apart the bigger the scaring industry becomes in my brain and the more I realize that Sulley and Mike might have actually done a really terrible thing just....

like...

They were in a real deep crisis, I get that. This new form of energy it's exactly what they needed but...As big as the scaring industry is, as much education that you need to be a Scarer or Assistant, as much perceived danger these guys go through, and as many Monsters go through the effort to be a Scarer... It's all invalidated now.

Looking at the scare cards, the average scarer goes through an average of 2-5 dead doors a YEAR. As of MI The entire factory went through 58 dead doors in a WEEK. We don't know how many scare floors there are (Mike and Sulley work on floor F) but that is a MASSIVE amount of scarers working in just MI, who we know for a fact does not hold a monopoly on scare energy.

All of those monster who have went to school, worked for years and years and it's the only thing they know, not all of them can be CEO's and are not all of them can adapt to being Comedians. Every single one of them who falls behind are going to be out of the job within years. And what about all the Monsters in school right now to be scarers? And the Monsters who work in other factions like refining and processing and sales and well...I think all the old fashioned scare legends and sales big wigs and a large amount of monsters like Waternoose with money and power all tied into the scare industry, are all going to fight tooth and nail for it and this isn't just finding cold fusion this is, I can't think of anything that would change the very foundations of our own very culture, our jobs, our schooling, whats attractive and prestigious and the very FABRIC of what it is to be a Person the way Laugh energy would change the monster's.

Now excuse my rambling I'm going to convince two old grumpy guys that they need a kid even though neither of them want it. It's being really difficult because Randall just want's to dump the *spoilers* egg and run before Sully even finds out about the stupid thing and that's it that's the end Randall you pick that thing back up right now why is it so hard to get into your head?

Oh babe, that meta is gorggggeous for a start. :p I love thinky thoughts like that. But yeah, being a scarer does seem to be something between being a top athlete and being an engineer. It's just... man, it's really interesting to think about. (And I have Ideas for that ROTG crossover involving Pitch Black. Must go find that prompt again.)

The processing thing can be turned over, I think, and the engineering takes a change of ideas but nothing too major. The big thing, as you say, is going to be the scarers, and the societal pressure. I can imagine that some monsters would not want laughter-based energy, which could draw out the turnover for a while, but Sulley has... well, he closed the factory. He really did wreck a whole system, and it's got to show somewhere.

With regards to the spoilers, hahaha Randall you failbug. That's kind of adorkable even as I facepalm. And Sulley somewhere between practical and freaking out, I have no doubt. This sounds great.

Well I will tell you that the first chapter is done, I just need to wait for my beta to come online and see if she's open for this fandom, I've never actually written for it before.

I mean, I'm the kind of person who really needs a beta reader, but they'll get posted a lot faster if you don't mind them posted int the raw *huehuehue*
