Filled! Part 2lycoriisAugust 22 2013, 23:39:45 UTC
“I was visiting Grandmother Willow,” she prompted, jolting Nakoma from her thoughts, “Strange things are happening.”
“Strange things are always happening,” Nakoma scoffed as she turned back on her side and away from Pocahontas.
“I can hear you, you know,” Pocahontas laughed as her fingers flew to Nakoma’s body in an attempt to tickle her. Nakoma giggled as she tried to push Pocahontas’ hands away and tickle her back as they wriggled around in the bed. The spicy scent of autumn in Pocahontas’ hair prickled her nose, the flow of the river pulsed under her fingertips, and the taste of the rich earthen berries tickled her senses as she leant up to kiss her. Pocahontas was as free as the colours of the wind, as strong as the earth, and eternally one with nature. It could never be stripped from her. Still, Nakoma wished for stability, a family, and a life with Pocahontas alone, not with nature. But she knew that Pocahontas could never be tied down, and long ago Nakoma had decided she would put her life wishes aside for Pocahontas’ need for freedom.
“You’re awfully reserved,” Pocahontas said as she pulled away from Nakoma’s kiss, “You’re not as passionate as usual.”
“I’m just tired,” Nakoma lied with a smile, pushing the melancholic thoughts away, “and I’ve had a busy day.”
“Then let’s sleep,” Pocahontas suggested with a smile at Nakoma’s yawn. Nakoma shifted into an uneasy sleep as Pocahontas cuddled her from behind, skin-to-skin, nature to home.
It wasn’t even dawn before Nakoma felt her lover leave, and just like the river, Pocahontas slipped through her fingers.

Not what I was originally expecting, but that doesn't make it any less awesome! I love your characterisation here, the subtleties and especially the focus on Nakoma. Oh, the Nakoma feels!
Thank you so much for writing it! I love the lyrical nature, and... oh, it is just perfect for them!
