Fill, Herc/Meg, 4/? anonymous August 6 2011, 00:33:04 UTC
He walks around in a haze after that. She’s everything he’s ever dreamed of, and he knows that they have to cross paths again. Of course, in actuality, she is less pure than he would prefer. She’s been used by men, hurt by them. He heart has been wounded, and she’s shut it to the prospect of love. But love is a funny thing, and real, true love can heal all wounds, as they will come to discover.

She’s pressed her face against the cool glass of the car window, watching the streetlights go by. She’s disoriented, and barely notices as he puts the car in park, and opens her door for her. He helps her out of the car, before deciding to just lift her up bridal-style. If Meg were a bit more on guard, she’d think it suspicious that this boy who weighed probably less than even she did could so easily carry her dead weight. She’d be very wary of the fact that he was carrying her into an unfamiliar house, and be hyper aware of him locking the door behind him.

But here’s the big reveal: Megara isn’t the innocent victim in all this. No, Hercules is. Megara is the big, bad wolf with an agenda. She’s every bit the bad guy as Hades is. Maybe she doesn’t really want to hurt Hercules as much as her boss does, but Hades has the decency to look the part. Meg can play the simpering love interest to a tee, and lure the boy into a false sense of security that is perpetually non-existent where a big blue God with flaming hair is concerned. The situation is Meg’s fault. But it’s alright. Hercules is a hero. He’s got a heart big enough to forgive her, and a mentality that will only let him save her. Megara has been a very bad girl, but Hercules will go about making her right again.

He considers tying her to the bed, but that makes it seem indecent, gives it a much more sinister element than he wants. Besides, his brute strength would be more than enough to restrain such a skinny, dazed girl. He lays her on the bed ever so gently, positioning her just right. She’s so serene, with her eyes already closing in anticipation of sleep. Her chest rises and falls with her relaxed breaths, disguising the sounds of his own clothes sliding to the floor. He takes his time with hers. He rolls back the fabric of her skirt, revealing a single long leg that leads to a slender, weak ankle. The girl could do with some muscle definition. He slides down the strap of her top, exposing the bony shoulder beneath. He peels away all of her layers, all of her armour, revealing the vulnerable interior he was so interested in. His naked body is touching hers. He’s closer than he’s ever been to any human being; but not close enough. He leans in to press his lips to hers. His first kiss, stolen from a Sleeping Beauty. The fairytale was wrong, but it was close enough. At the contact, dark lashes fly open, revealing confused amethyst eyes.

It’s Meg who makes the first move. She stands alone among all of his other numerous admirers, unique because the admiration is returned. She certainly isn’t a passive participant, isn’t content to allow him to do all of the work. She knows her body very well, and more importantly, she knows just how to use it. In contrast, for all of his heroism, Hercules is all weak knees and tied tongues around her. To anyone else, her method of seduction would be a bit immature (shoving your feet in a suitor’s face and pulling down the strap of your dress? Really?), but anything she did was mesmerizing to him. Everyone and their mother, with the exception of perhaps that Oedipus guy from that play, wanted a piece of him. But being around Meg, he felt like a child again. And yet, somehow, in that deserted courtyard, she made him feel like the grand hero he was meant to be, one his father would be proud to call a son. And all that while playing the Delilah to his proverbial Samson. If that isn’t love, he wouldn’t be paying any tribute in Aphrodite’s temple.

Having just rewatched the movie today, I'm finding a heightened appreciation of this fic :D It's so fucking creepy, and the contrast between the fiction and the reality is just perfect. I'm really enjoying it so far!
