After his return to glory, Hercules is rather popular with the ladies. He has Meg, of course, so he turns them down, but the unpopular loser inside of him wants desperately to relish the attention. He attends one of his father's parties on Mount Olympus after a fight with Meg that leaves him wishing that she could just be a bit more feminine and sweet. Rather, a bit like the girls who've been throwing themselves at him. While at that party, he meets the girl of his dreams...circa age sixteen. She's a demi-goddess or nymph, who is the epitome of submissive, shy, and delicate. What's more, she is captivated by him. Longing for the life he couldn't live because of Meg, he sleeps with her. It's the best night of his life.
He wakes up to a nightmare. The girl is gone, but he finds out quickly where she went. She immediately told everyone on Mount Olympus about the affair, and the news reaches Meg before he can. As it turns out, the other woman was Eris, goddess of discord, who owed Hades a favour. See, Hades had learned of a prophecy that Meg and Hercules' son would actually banish him like the Titans had been. The reason Meg had been distant was because she learned she was pregnant, and was at odds with herself over how to tell him. The stress of learning about the betrayal of the only person who ever really loved her caused her to miscarry.
