"Quick!" Woody yelled, leading Jessie, Dr. Porkchop, One-Eyed Bart and Buttercup (pretending to be One-Eyed-Bess) down into the super-epic snow fort off the side of the mountain. Above them, a giant avalanche had started, threatening to sweep them all away.
They dodged flurries of lethal snowballs delivered by the evil red-eyed snowmen guarding the fort, firing back with their heat lasers and melting them. They had to break into the fort's secret garden and water the plants quickly, or they'd get frozen to death.
They broke into the fort, and nearly made it to the garden when a familiar figure in pink stopped them.
"Bo!" Woody yelled.
Bo yelled through her tears aiming the gun at them. "You said we'd always be together! You said you'd rescue me no matter what!"
"Woody!" Jessie yelled. Yelling appeared to be the default volume setting in this universe. "Don't listen to her! She's just part of your imagination!"
"And you aren't?" Bo retorted with a yell. "Is this not a playtime within a playtime? Is this not just taking place in the mind of some little girl?"
"Yes!" Woody yelled. "But we know that! When Bonnie is done with us, we'll all go back to the real world!"
"The real world? You have never had any doubts about your real world? You've never considered that perhaps you, me, Bonnie, and everything else about this so-called real world exists in the mind of someone else?"
Woody paused, the silence so dramatic it was practically yelling.
"Think! How nothing seemed to happen to you between the time Andy fixed your arm to the time he went to college? How I just disappeared? How Buzz just keeps going into Ranger mode during the most inconvenient moments? How the aliens just happened to save you conveniently when you were about to burn alive? How you just magically ran into the perfect little girl to take care of you, who Andy just magically happened to know? And how you've magically always avoided getting caught by humans, even as you've driven cars, flown above school children, run around in broad daylight? And what about now, when you are interacting with a character that the six-year-old playing with you doesn't even know about and has never heard of, participating in a far-too elaborate playtime based on a movie that is far too complicated for said six-year old to understand, and by all accounts doesn't even exist in this world?"
"What are you trying to say!?!" Jessie yelled.
"That we are still in a dream! That even when we wake into our so-called real world, we still remain in the imagination of someone else! Someone beyond us is manipulating our world, fixing it so we get a happy ending! Or in this case fulfilling some crazy desire to cross over their favorite films!"

"Inception You showed her Inception?"
John Parker shrugged. "Why not? Never too early to start giving your kids good taste in movies."
"Yeah, but - " Mrs. Davis paused to sip her coffee. "Goodness I had trouble following it, and I majored in Psych. I'm just trying to figure out what a six year old would make of it - "
They were interrupted by a loud crash. A large cardboard box taped shut and helpfully labelled VAN had been thrown down the stair, turning over and over again until it landed right side up, a green dinosaur duct-taped to the front. Bonnie immediately came running down after it,
"Oh no!" She yelled, picking up the van again. "Quick! Wake up!" She started kicking the box down the hall.
The two parents watched her go, trying to digest exactly what they were seeing. Finally, John said with a smile:
