The Sentence (1/??)

New anon here, and I mean new as in I am not too sure what I'm doing yet. Where do I report my fills/check for updates here? The only kink meme I've been to is the Phoenix Wright one.
BTW, that picture is not working, do you have another link?
Grass crunched under Philippe’s hooves as the horse tore through the forest, scattering fallen leaves and throwing aside branches. Winter was fast approaching, frost stiffened the grass and leaves, soon the animals will be leaving or hiding in their little homes. If the hunters wished to gather some more meat for the dreary season, they had little time to linger. A group of horsemen now rode through the forest, all in warm black cloaks like some ghastly replica of death.
Leading these men was Philippe and the sole female rider, Belle.
The beautiful woman wore a black cloak like the rest of the men, one hand on the horse’s reins and the other on an archer’s bow. She rode with a mastery grace, brown eyes glowing with the thrill of the hunt and the speed of her horse. Most of the time she was a quiet and reserved individual, her eyes hardly leaving her books, but during the hunting season she glowed like Artemis herself. It was unbecoming of a lady to engage in those activities, reading and hunting, but few in the town actively tried to challenge her when she was so successful in the latter.
“Look, there!”
“Deer!”
“Philippe, go!”
Belle redirected her horse sharply as they veered towards the small clearing in the forest, where three horned deer - signaling they were not about to kill a mother - were grazing. The three animals looked up at the approach of their hunters, then turned and leaped away. The horses gave chase, snarling as their riders yelled suggestions at each other. Belle ignored them, only nudging her horse faster and faster as she chased the deer deeper into the forest.
An arrow suddenly flew past Belle and imbedded itself into a tree, missing the deer. Belle sneered but said nothing, eager huntsmen who had no patience, whoever it was just wasted an arrow. She rode on, eyes never leaving the deer, never saying anything back to the men who were calling out suggestions to her.
The deer leaped up small hills and weaved between trees, somewhere along the way one of the three disappeared and the hunters could only see two of their prey leaping away. The humans ignored it, their sights set on the largest deer who continued to jump gracefully between trees. A few arrows were sent after the fleeing animal, but none made its mark, and Belle never pulled out her arrows.
They crashed through several branches, men yelling and horses snorting, but suddenly they burst through a small clearing. The horses suddenly neighed and pulled to a stop suddenly, nearly throwing some of the more inexperienced riders out. Belle was among the more experienced riders who quickly reigned in their horses and brought them to a halt. Her eyes narrowed as she searched around, “Where did the deer go?”
The hunters had come across an unfamiliar river, one that cut through the forest and separated the trees from each other with a small clearing for the shore. It should have been easily to spot the deer or at least see their flipping tails as they disappeared on the other side of the river, it was wide but small enough for a larger animal to leap across. Yet there was no sign of the deer, in fact there was no sign of life at all.
“Is it just me, or is this place unnaturally quiet?”
“It’s not just you, I don’t even hear the birds here.”
“Have you ever seen this river before?”
“No, have you?”
“Not me, I think we may have gone deeper to the forest then we usually do.”
“What, you mean we’ve never explored the forest this deeply before?”
“New kid, this forest is huge, I don’t think any of us have gone this deep into it before.”
“Did you hear that?” At last Belle spoke, and the men behind her stopped speaking; they looked at her curiously as their unofficial leader turned her head to one side, eyes trained for the slightest movement. The men strained their ears, but except for the snorting of their horses, the flickering of their tails and the human’s breathing they heard nothing.

“I don’t…”
“…Away!”
“Hush! I heard something too!”
“…fear…now!”
“There!”
“What was…?”
“Shush!”
“Go away!”
“If you do not wish to face fear, leave!”
“You will not harm those who come to us!”
“Return to your villages now!”
“Okay, I’m getting serious creeps now,” one of the hunters murmured. “Those voices don’t sound anything like human.”
“Go away!”
“Are we really hearing someone speak, or is it just the wind?” The cocky voice was ruined by the trembling of the voice’s speaker. He wasn’t the only one, several of the hunters were shuffling uncomfortably and looking at each other for signs on what to do. Belle remained starring fixedly at her side, motionless.
“If you do not wish to face fear, leave!”
“You will not harm those who come to us!”
“Return to your villages now!”
The last voice came as a sudden scream and suddenly something resembling a black cloud burst free from the other side of the river and launched itself on the hunters. Men and horses alike screamed and suddenly they were pelting backwards, going back where they came from. Philippe shrieked and would have joined them but his mistress yanked his reins sharply and uttered even sharper words, and the horse found itself stumbling but remaining at the same spot. Belle swept the black cloud away and recognized the black material that now clung to her. “It’s soot!”
Philippe neighed loudly, wanting to run again, but Belle yanked the reins again. “Easy, boy! Someone’s probably just playing a trick on us! We’re not going to be frightened away that easily!” She ignored how, even if the soot may be a prank, the voices certainly didn’t sound human. Redirecting the reins, she threw her weight forward, and the horse charged towards the river. Belle didn’t even flinch as the animal jumped across and made it to the other side.
The voices became louder, “Go away!” “You will not harm those who come to us!”
“Let’s find them, Philippe!” Belle cut through the suddenly unfamiliar forest, chasing after the voices, and she could hear them backing off. The voices were moving back, trying to place distance between them, but Belle pursed. The village’s own hunting princess did not take kindly to someone trying to scare her from her game, and for all she knew the voices probably wanted to take the deer, the ones she had been chasing for so long, for themselves. So she continued forward, crashing through branches and riding against the wind.
“Go away!”
“Return to your villages now!”
“Ha!” Belle almost laughed at the sheer repetitiveness of her phantoms, “You’ll think they’ll learn to say something more creative, don’t you Philippe?”
Philippe’s response was a sharp whine and to Belle’s surprise, a sudden stop. Belle caught herself just in time to prevent a fall to the unforgiving ground, and she frowned. Never had her horse disobeyed her commands to run, “Philippe, what…?” The horse whined again, staring with wide eyes, and Belle turned to see what had caught her ride’s attention. Her breath caught in her throat.
The Sentence (3/??)

There was a sharp drop on Philippe’s side, showing off a portion of the forest on lower ground. Amidst the trees and thick foliage was the back of some unidentified large beast. Thick, tangled brown fur promised something wild; wicked curved horns showed another threat besides fangs. They were too far to see any details, but judging by the rise and fall of the animal, it was probably asleep. What animal slept outside so openly like this?
One that, perhaps, have never been in the presence of hunters.
“That creature looks big enough to feed papa and I for a good portion of the winter,” Belle whispered to Philippe. “We’ll be able to spare countless other animals, and think! A game as large as that, if it had gone towards the village, imagine the chaos that could cause!” Philippe understood his mistress’ intentions, and began a slow trek down to where the creature was. They approached as quietly and cautiously as possible, and finally Belle pulled out an arrow and readied a shot. The beast continued to sleep obliviously, half-surrounded and half-hidden by the plants around it, Belle couldn’t aim directly for the heart or neck but this close a shot was bound to do something.
“Go away!”
And suddenly the voice was no longer whispery and far off but almost screamed from beside her. Belle was so startled she released her arrow without calculating a more precise shot. The arrow flew forward and struck what might have been the beast’s front legs.
Then the creature roared in pain and anger and threw its arms up and stood up on its hind legs and suddenly Belle regretted not investigating the animal closer before shooting it. Philippe shared similar thoughts, it finally had enough of Belle’s adventures and rouse up to its hind legs sharply, throwing its mistress to the ground. Belle managed to keep a hold of her arrows and bow, but Philippe was tearing back to where they came from. “Philippe! Wait! Don’t go!”
But the horse was long gone, and Belle, thrown into a most vulnerable position, turned back to look at her immediate threat. The beast was still roaring and now Belle could see definitely that it was no regular beast. The creature stood on its hind legs and was wearing clothing, pants and what seemed to be a cape, but it was definitely a beast. Ragged brown fur, horns, a snout and a jaw of vicious fangs; and all those were incomparable to the angry eyes that looked around widely before focusing on her.
“YOU!!”
Good lord, the thing could talk. Belle straightened, getting to her feet quickly, bow and arrow at hand, the beast roared again and she took a few steps back. That didn’t stop her from getting ready for another shot.
“No!”
The familiar voice cried out again, and Belle halted in her movements, half bewildered, half curious. The beast shared none of her reservations, but shouted out in response, “She shot me first!”
“You will not harm those here”
“I am master here! These are my grounds! She is trespassing on my territory!”
“She knows not what she has done.”
“Ignorance is no excuse! You only have to look at me to see that!”
“You know as well as us that your story is different from hers. Now, drop your weapons, child, unless you wish for a fight and your subsequent death.” Belle hesitated, she could almost feel the eyes watching her, waiting impatiently for her to drop her bow and arrows, but she did not trust the beast in front of her not to attack as soon as she was defenseless. Her apprehension must have shown on her face, because there was a sigh.
“He will not attack you if you cooperate, isn’t that right, master?”
“She shot me!”
“But she hasn’t killed you and you yourself have hunted before, she wasn’t acting particularly vicious.”
The beast snarled, for one moment Belle tensed, ready to let the arrow fly at a moment’s notice, but then the creature and his head away. “Fine, I won’t touch her, but she has already seen me for what I am. I cannot simply let her go, and risk her returning with a group of hunters.”

*Blushes* thank you, at first when it seemed like no one was commenting I thought that meant either no one was interested/I was writing poorly/I did not properly report my fill. I'm relieved to know that I did at least made two readers happy, I shall start writing the next part now!
