“Of course. But take off your bra first.”

Soon Violet was stretched out completely naked between Mirage’s legs, licking and sucking at her hot, wet center. Somewhere in the back of her mind she wondered, idly, why she had never been able to summon this kind of fervency for sex before, and if it maybe had something to do with being drunk. Or maybe something to do with Mirage.

When Mirage came, she let out a long moan and closed her thighs lightly around Violet’s head. When Vi looked up, she was smiling. “Che bella,” Mirage purred, and motioned for Violet to come lie beside her. Violet did, and before long, the two of them were asleep.

When Violet woke up, she had to piss so bad it was painful. In the bathroom, eliminatory function taken care of, she looked in the mirror and took stock. It wasn’t going to be a bad hangover, but she was probably going to have some trouble getting back to sleep. She snuck into her room, careful not to wake Mirage, tugged on sweats and tied back her hair. After getting a big glass of water from the kitchen, she snuck back into the room and settled herself on the chair between the window and the bed, so wedged to take advantage of the best reading light.

A patch of early-morning sun fell through the curtains and onto Mirage. She didn’t seem perturbed, though- her breathing continued to be low and steady. Violet admired the way her hair sparkled in the light.

Violet had come to Italy to be someone else. She loved her family, but she needed to know she could be a super- could be just a person- without them there every minute. An ocean away from Syndrome and everything that had happened, maybe Mirage was learning to be her own person, too.

After she finished her water, Violet got up and twitched the curtains shut. Today was going to be good, but there was no harm in letting it start a little later.

Thanks for the prompt, and for introducing me to a great artist! Keeping with her theme of adding a soundtrack to pieces, by the time I was done I had "Drifting Away" by The PushStars stuck in my head. Seemed appropriate.
