The little things in life.

My mother in law, Diane, works for a doctor and his wife as a nanny. She takes care of three children. Lindsey, Madison, and Townsend. Lindsey is the oldest, at 5.

Diane, for all of her faults, is remarkable with children. They are her true calling in life. She's much better with them than she is with us adults.

But anyway. When she is at work, she talks a lot about us at home. The little girls like Hello Kitty. She told them I have Hello Kitty slippers and pj's. They were thrilled. There was some cute little song the girls (whom I have never met) wanted, so I scoured the internet for Diane and found this song for Lins and Maddie, and put it on a cd for them. Diane said the jumped and screamed and danced little madwomen for hours. And when there were done, asked Diane if "You girl Desiree" can come play.
So obviously they think I'm also about 5 years old. Heh. Is that not the cutest thing ever?

Well. When Diane got home today, she presents me a picture of a scribbled, technicolor kitty. Her head is pink, as are her left paw and her tail. Her body and other feet are royal blue, and her collar and string she's playing with are purple.
"Lindsey told me to give this to 'my girl Desiree'. I told her you'd hang it by your computer. Of course, you don't have to keep it, I just told her that."
My heart absolutely melted.

And yes. I am hanging it by my computer.
