So I finally have a chance to sit down and post my pics from Vegas!
I had a blast and I can't wait to go back. I had more fun than I did at Dragon*Con this year to be honest. Maybe because it was a new experience and I've been going to Dragon*Con off and on for the past 10 years.
Meh. My life isn't going to revolve around cons anymore, but more of traveling. Don't get me wrong, I love conventions and will never stop going, but instead of putting so much time and money into something I do every year, I will try to see a new city at LEAST once a year.
Speaking of traveling, I have HUGE news that is too big to share with my Vegas post. More about that later. It's insane!
Anyway...pictures from Las Vegas!!!! Please keep in mind that I never just post pictures. That's no fun! They all have a meaning behind them, so please read the captions to get the full effect of the adventure!
I meant for the pictures to tell a story of mine and Brad's Las Vegas adventure. Enjoy!
First picture of the trip and it's of Brad pissed off because he found a hair in his shitty airport breakfast. I was so grossed out that I tried to lighten the situation with a picture! Yay!
Plane rides are fun! Look how excited we both look! Hehe. I let Brad have the window seat for our first flight.
We flew over the Grand Canyon during our decent. These pictures don't do it justice. It was gorgeous and HUGE!
Finally made it to the airport where we met up with Bonnie and Jimmie! We rode the shuttle to our hotels together.
42 inch flat screen plasma TV in our room?!? Hell yeah!
Brad talking to his mom and checking out the view from our room.
My skeleton hand clips that my friend Carlyn made for me. Airport security gave me candy for being "festive". Little do they know, I'll be wearing these year round. hehe.
First taste of slot machine madness!
The Golden Nugget, our hotel!
Binons right across the street. Sure did take a beating there in some black jack. Sheesh.
Hey its Billie Mayes back from the dead!
Off to Circus Circus for Halloween fun!
Bonnie and Jimmie...or should I say Elvis and Hunter S. Thompson.
Brad and I. Jesus and Satan!
Brad and I decided to just walk around some of the hotels on the strip.
This picture is awesome in so many ways. Jesus smoking a cigarette and grabbing hooker trading cards. One dude saw Brad and actually said "Hell yeah! I hope Jesus really does have a mohawk like that!" A ton of people bowed down to him and we got lots of "hallelujahs" and "hell yeahs!" all night. Pretty good for a costume I whipped up for him in like 20 mins.
Headed back downtown after a few hours. We changed and walked around Fremont just looking at costumes. I gotta say, after going to Dragon Con for so many years, Halloween costumes just aren't as impressive to me anymore...
Although this Homer and Marge were pretty great and super nice! He was saying "D'oh" as I took the picture.
Fremont Street!
Me standing under the big ass TV thing that covers Fremont Street. Apparently its the largest TV in the world!
Up the next morning and the first thought of the day...BEER! Maybe that's because we saw this giant beer up ahead.
Tried to make it look like he was holding the beer. It worked a little I guess.
We actually ate at the place where the giant beer was. Horrid service and the food was overpriced, but hey, it was an Irish pub that was in a giant beer! Who could resist?!
Fremont looks so different during the day.
Headed back to the strip to check out some of the mega hotels.
The Flamingo! Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel's hotel, though the original is gone. You may as well call it hotel Donnie and Marie now. Jesus.
Restaurants and such.
Brad and I. He's so cute. I was wearing my cheapy glasses that don't feature anti glare. Oh well!
Headed to Caesar's Palace first! And it definitely is a palace. One of the largest hotels we walked through. It's crazy how big these casinos are!
Pussycat Dolls Casino inside Caesar's featuring skanky gals in glittery corsets and hotpants. Hey, its Vegas!
Gentleman, place your sports and racing bets!
So Brad being a chef and all is all about food and restaurants and stuff. Well, we both have a passionate hatred for Bobby Flay, and this is his restaurant inside Caesars. Which explains his pose. Hehe.
Checking out the menu and prices for reference. For the record, we didn't eat there.
But we considered this really cool futuristic looking Asian fusion restaurant that is also in Caesars.
More of Caesars!
I thought this was soo cute! It was a snack bar by the pool!
Leaving Caesar's
On to the Bellagio!
Chanel is one of the many designer stores we passed on the way to the Bellagio. I love Chanel!
Really cool hand blown glass flowers in the lobby ceiling of the Bellagio.
Observatory with a bunch of fake flower displays in the Bellagio.
Outside of the Bellagio
A cool picture of Paris across from the Bellagio.
The fountain show begins!
I'm doing that. Making them come out of the water using my powers. hehe. God I'm a nerd.
On to Planet Hollywood!
We went through the Miracle Mile Mall entrance.
Its a statue guy! You wouldn't believe how many of these guys were around the strip.
Cool glass orb chandelier ball thing in Planet Hollywood.
Inside the Miracle Mile! I would totally shop here if I lived in Vegas. Not only do they have a Betsy Johnson, and a place called Tattoo Club (Brad and I both bought pieces of jewelry there for our piercings) but they also have....
...A freakin Betty Page store!
I went in but didn't take pictures in the store because I didn't want to be "that girl". But I did take a picture of that dress in the window that I would love to make sometime soon. God, I'd live in that store.
Back outside. Its getting dark!
Even the Denny's sparkle in Vegas. I took this picture just for Josh and Adam.
New York New York!
Off to MGM Grand!
Brad just loves all of the pictures I take of him..haha.
A performance by Vanilla Ice? A nightmare indeed! haha
MGM featured lions inside the hotel. There were supposed to be two, but I only saw the one. I felt pretty bad for him all cooped up in there. The people at MGM said they take them to an animal reserve most of the week to give them space, but who knows how true that is.
STARWARS SLOT MACHINE??!?! Of course I had to play. I lost really fast. Guess the force just wasn't with me this time. haha.
Me losing.
Off to the rain forest gift shop. They had all animatronic animals throughout the store.
Me about to be eaten by a snake.
Brad being eaten by the talking tree gorilla. haha.
Elephant!
There was a bar next door that had bar stools that looked like the backs of animals. It was weird but cool looking when someone sat in one.
Off to New York New York!
Casino inside New York New York
Magic Shop in New York New York!
Excalibur!
Brad was pretty stoked that you can drink ANYWHERE in Vegas. So many pictures feature him with some sort of beverage in hand. Haha.
Random advertisements in Excalibur...
Gay...
Even MORE gay!
Moving walkways are fun when you're slightly buzzed. haha. I bet people got mad.
Inside the Luxor!
Outside the Luxor!
Alright. Enough of the strip. Time to head back to our neck of the woods for Bingo!
KISS tribute at Fremont! Of course I got lots of pictures of this cause I LOVE KISS!!!
Brad and I were close to stumbling in this strip club many times during our stay. He hates strip clubs (except the Clermont) but I think they're hilarious!
Little daiquiri New Orleans type of place. I love New Orleans!
Up bright and early for Bingo and swimming the next day! I loved playing bingo. Brad, Jimmie, Bonnie, and myself played about 4 different times and we were always the youngest people in there. I actually won the first time I played!
Brad's trying to be all cool, but he loved it just as much as I did!
Bonnie loves bingo!
Jimmie is a bingo master. Look at the gleam in his eyes!
I'm ready to go!
Gearing up for the game!
Random picture of Brad in our room after bingo and swimming. He's a very vulgar man.
Back downstairs
Worlds Largest Golden Nugget! The Hand of Faith.
Hilarious picture of Brad. Haha. He looks so full from the ONLY buffet we went to on our trip. I've never seen him eat anything sweet which is why I had to take this picture.
Gotta have a picture with an Elvis while in Vegas. We got one with Elvis AND Michael! Excuse my stupid expression.
Random pictures of old signs and downtown Vegas lights.
Little Mexican stand for some local cuisine.
Brad, Bonnie, Jimmie, and I went to this bar called The Griffin. If Vegas were my home, this would be my bar. It was like hanging out in a cave. It was only lit by two fire pits and those lanterns you see hanging down. The flash of the camera was the most light in the whole place. I loved it.
Ceiling in The Griffin. Met a nice British fellow while I was trying to work the jukebox. The British guy said he probably broke it from sticking a coin in the slot for dollars (or "notes" as he called them) and felt bad. Poor bloke! We had a conversation about Dr. Who and British punk rock.
Views from our room.
Outside of the Plaza where all of our Bingo playing was done.
Pictures inside the Omelet House.
Anxiously waiting for our delicious omelets. haha.
Downtown Fremont is much more different during the day!
Atomic Liquor, one of the oldest bars downtown. Its never been renovated and was probably the most depressing place I've ever been. Even Brad, who is a big fan of dive bars said it was just too much for him. All bar seats were filled at 1pm with old men and old hookers. But it was definitely worth checking out.
Back to the strip to check out the Stratosphere tower, the tallest point in Vegas!
Expensive thrill ride.
Brad and I on top of the tower!
So inside the tower, they had ads for the rides and the same guy looked ridiculous in every ad. Of course I had to take a picture of it! haha.
Off to Treasure Island!
Awesome custom chopper inside Treasure Island. Sadly, there wasn't much pirate themed stuff in T.I.
Off to the Venetian which was also really huge.
It was so pretty inside that place. Super fancy too. Even more fancy than the Bellagio.
Gondola's inside the Venetian!
We decided to make reservations for a restaurant inside the Venetian. Brad was stoked because it was a world renowned chef's restaurant.
This is the walkway that led to the restaurant.
It was really nice and way expensive, but so good. I didn't know food could taste so good. It was worth every penny, especially being in such a nice place with my guy. I didn't take pictures of or inside the restaurant, cause yeah. It was just too classy for that. We felt awkward at first, being an interracial "alternative looking" couple (you wouldn't believe some of the stares and comments we got in that town), but our server was really nice and made us feel right at home.
Time to go home...sadness
Brad and I reflected on our trip and our many items to bring home.
My collection of hooker trading cards...
Brad's collection of hooker trading cards!
Last picture in Vegas.
SOO MUCH FUN! I can't even express it! I can't wait to go back! I have a couple of little videos that I took of the Bellagio fountains, the KISS tribute on Fremont, and Brad and I being drunk and retarded. I'm having trouble posting them. If you want to see em, just ask and I can email them to you. Until next time!
